Trivia: This film was originally shown in 3-D. The cave scenes
for this flick were filmed on location in California's Bronson Canyon, used
also in the filming of 210-KING DINOSAUR; 311-IT CONQUERED THE WORLD; 315-TEENAGE
CAVEMAN; 317-VIKING WOMEN; 319-WAR
OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST; 404-TEENAGERS FROM OUTER
SPACE; and 701-NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST. The
house foundation scenes were done at a demolition site near Dodger Stadium.
The dinosaur scenes are from One Million B.C., and rocket scenes
from Flight to Mars. The women's "costumes" were purchased
by SELENA ROYALE and CLAUDIA BARRETT on a shopping trip to
Orbach's on Wilshire Blvd. in L.A. Producer/director PHIL TUCKER tried
to commit suicide after the film received awful reviews.
Born in 1921, GEORGE NADER was a very popular actor in the late
1950's and was about to achieve stardom, when a tabloid threatened to expose
his gay relationship. With no chance for roles in Hollywood, Nader acted
in Grade-B films produced in Europe. In addition to ROBOT MONSTER,
420-THE HUMAN DUPLICATORS, and K18-THE
MILLION EYES OF SU-MURU, some of his other films are: 1954-Carnival
Story; Sins of Jezebel; 1956-Away All Boats; 1967-The
House of 1,000 Dolls; and 1973-Beyond Atlantis. He and co-star
CLAUDIA BARRETT did another film together, 1950's Rustlers on
Horseback.
No doubt you are more familiar with George Nader's nephew, Michael Nader,
who's a regular on the soap opera All My Children and who became
famous for his role of Dex Dexter on TV's Dynasty. Teenager Michael
Nader appeared in every beach movie A.I.P. released in the 1960's from Beach
Party to Ski Party.
