Neill Kirby McMillan Jr., known to his fans as eclectic rocker Mojo Nixon, died Feb. 7 aboard a cruise ship hosting the Outlaw Country Cruise. He was 66.
Best known for comedic tunes like “Elvis Is Everywhere” and “Don Henley Must Die,” MSTies will recall that he was mentioned in host segments in episodes 311- IT CONQUERED THE WORLD and 1013- DIABOLIK. Thanks to Tim for the heads up. Melanie Anne Safka-Schekeryk, aka Melanie, the witty, gentle-voiced folk singer-songwriter, who rose to fame with her performance at Woodstock in 1969 and had two major hit singles, “Brand New Key” and “Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)”, died January 23. She was 76.
