 Chiswick, London — Alvin Rakoff, the Canadian-born filmmaker who directed Laurence Olivier in “A Voyage Round My Father,” has died. He was 97. Rakoff was a writer, director and producer of over 100 TV, film and stage productions, as well as novels. MSTies know his work as director of the movie in episode K16- CITY ON FIRE. The Hollywood Reporter has the story.  Keizô Murase, an artist and sculptor who worked on many Japanese monster films — he made the Gamera suit and did special effects for many movies including the movies in episodes K06- /308- GAMERA VS. GAOS and 1109- YONGARY MONSTER FROM THE DEEP — died Oct. 14. He joined Toho’s film productions in 1958 and worked as a modeling assistant on films such as “Varan the Giant Monster” in the same year, “Mothra” in 1961, “King Kong vs. Godzilla” in 1962, and “Matango” in 1963. BURBANK, CALIF. — Roger Browne Jr., an actor and voice artist best known for his work in Italian cinema, died here Oct. 11 after a short illness.
