    Anyone else going to the Morristown show? Anybody been to the Mayo Center Community Theatre before? Is it 11:30 yet? Why does my hip hurt?

    Well, so much for trying to get an Atlantic City show. Guess I’ll never them live. I’m not buying a live DVD until I do.

    @1, No, I haven’t been to that theatre and I’m not going to that show. Too far out of my driving range. Not worth potentially breaking down.

    Laura, you said previously you would be willing to go to Trenton, and Princeton is only 15 minutes from Trenton. Why not go to the Princeton show? It’s a nice town. Good pizza.

    I don’t know Princeton and it’s not worth the risk of my car breaking down on some highway that I don’t know. Also, I can get to Trenton much easier than Princeton. Trenton is as far north as I am comfortable traveling. And no one else I know is willing to travel to Princeton either.

    @3 Laura..Quit acting like a baby,saying you won’t buy a live dvd until they come closer to you,ok? What does one have to do with the other anyway? Have you seen Rifftrax live? If not,but that hasn’t stopped you from buying their dvd’s,has it? Can your boyfriend go with you? Or can he take the time off from work?..Not trying to be mean,ok?

    Man, this is going to be great! I’ve got the big ol’ SUV rented, and me and five of my buddies, who are hardcore Misties like myself, are trekkin’ on up from Tucson to Mesa on Saturday night for the 8:30 CT show. Whether it’s Rattlers or War Of The Insects (seems to be some confusion as to what movie is at what time), it’s going to rule. My third CT, and many of my friends first, man I’m looking forward to this. Now if my Vol. 20 set would just get here…..
    I hope to see some of you up there! I’ll be stalking Laszlo! lol

    Laura, it’s up to you, obviously, but seriously: if you stay on 295 for an extra six miles instead of getting off at Trenton, then get on 1 north for five more miles, you’ll be at Princeton. Get off 1 at Alexander Road, and you’ll see the theater in a mile and a half. It’s an extra twelve miles.

    I’m guessing you suffer from some form of anxiety disorder, but the only way to get to know a new city is to travel there. The live shows are absolutely worth opening your horizons for.

    Still no Denver area shows…

    I know they don’t want to be accused of copying Rifftrax but…

    Why can’t they set up a “live via satellite” show like the others have done – only with one of the new movies (the biggest mistake Rifftrax has made so far)?

    Of course I’d rather see a live show but since they seem to be so few and far between.

    @13..Either they can’t afford it,since they’re using their own money to produce it and so on and also,maybe they feel they can’t connect with fans that way.Just saying.

    Now that I have looked at the driving directions for both NJ places, I found out that the Princeton show would take me half the time that it would take for me to get to Morristown (one hour vs. two hours). That is sad because I just want to see Rattlers, and that plays at Morristown specifically. At Princeton though, we have the “audience choice” thing, and the problem there is that I have now seen CT do Alien Factor, Samson and Legacy of Blood live. They were great shows to be sure, but I want something new.

    So my question is, how will the “audience choice” thing work? Is there any possible place to vote before the night of the show?

    I know, I know, such a problem to have, choosing between two shows that are relatively close to where I live.

    I don’t have any kind of “anxiety disorder”. :-X My car is too old to handle that kind of strain. And since I’ve been unemployed for a long time, I don’t have the funds to fix it if it does break down. Also, no one else I know would be willing to travel that far either. I tried.

  18. jere7my says:

    Laura, if your car can handle a trip to Trenton, it can handle a trip to Trenton + 12 miles.

    Heck, you could take the Dinky. “Princeton Junction is the main train station along the Northeast Corridor for Amtrak and New Jersey Transit. Visitors can take a cab to Princeton or transfer to a one car train called the ‘Dinky’. The train ride takes about 5 minutes, and drops you at University Place across from McCarter Theatre.”

    it’s been a while since i’ve been to princeton (i guess it was… last year’s CT show?), so this should be a blast – princeton record exchange, dinner & drinks at triumph brewery & then a quick walk to mccarter for the show!

  20. Laura says:

    I’m trying to see far from the theatre I would be if I took the train in Hamilton to Princeton. It’s a pain in butt to drive there, but I can get there rather easily via 295. But it just might not be worth it.

    I will try to convince SOMEONE in A.C. to have a show there. And there is one person that would probably know where there are any theatres in South Jersey, but I’d rather be shot into space and be forced to watch bad movies than have any kind of communication with…him.

    Trenton = ghetto
    Princeton = safe at any hour
    Why is this an issue? I lived all over that part of NJ throughout the ’80s and I suspect that aspect of the two cities hasn’t changed much since.

    On a different note… $40 a seat in Phoenix? WTF, “Mesa Arts Center”, if that’s your real name. Greed much? I know it’s not up to the CT folks, so I’m not griping at them, it’s just… in this lousy economy… unemployed…. $160 for me and my date to see both shows from my fave comedians… unemployed…. *SOB*

    @21

    My family doesn’t like me going to places like that alone. The last time I was in Trenton, I did bring a friend along, but the event was something we both enjoyed. No one else I know would ever be willing to come along with me to Princeton to see CT; not for safety reasons, they just don’t want to travel.

    Also, $160 for 2 tickets? WTF is up with that?

  24. Gary Bowden says:

    @22..So,how would you even go(if you could)to the show in Trenton or Princeton if you’re unemployed in the first place? You have 2 options: Either you’re going to have keep bugging the people in A.C. about having CT there or you’re going to have to venture out somewhere that’s not close to you and see them.Or maybe look for a job elsewhere and save your money that way..Are there any jobs where you live at? And also,how are you buying the MST3K box sets if you’re unemployed? If you are,that is..

  25. Laura says:

    @24,

    I’m currently not purchasing the sets. I am currently setting up going back to school to find a better job. There really aren’t any jobs in my particular town. Any job I do find and I apply, I get nothing in return. I have been bugging the people in AC for MONTHS now and it gets a little frustrating when I don’t get so much as a “Thanks. We’ll look into it”. If I got even that much, I’d leave them alone. But as of last week, absolutely NO ONE will even respond. And they wonder why AC is on the downfall. I haven’t been there for a couple of years but that’s because no comedian I enjoy has been touring there.

    If CT did come to AC, I would be able to pay for my half of the ticket if I went with someone like I always do. It’s going to take a miracle for that to happen, though. :-(

    Laura@20, the “Dinky” drops you off right at the theater. It runs 41 times a day (each way) from Princeton Junction, which is serviced by NJT.

  27. Gary Bowden says:

    @25..Just wondering,but have you tried to look for a job in another town? I think you need to concentrate on getting a good job or any job and wait until CT come around your neck of the woods again.No sense in worrying or getting frustrated about them not coming to A.C. or going somewhere you don’t know your way around when you don’t have the money in the first place.I know you already know all of this,but there’s no point in getting upset over something you have no control over.When you get a job,then fix the car first and go from there.Ok,that is all my free advice I’m going to give for now..And don’t stop calling the venue in A.C. about CT coming there.Eventually,they’ll do something,just to quit you from calling and bugging them anymore..Good luck!

    #21 Jeremy- I do appreciate the heads up and I just voted for Rattlers. The problem now is that they are not announcing the winner until the night of the show. Therefore, I would still be stuck not knowing which movie won. If I get a friend or two to go to the show, I might just go anyways, but again I’d rather see something new.

    Although April 16 is my sister’s birthday, I still may go to the Princeton show, driving down from Woodbridge, NJ. This would be my first time. If anyone wants to say hello, look for a short, white-haired, 60 year old lady who adores MST3K!

    @rose from NJ..Could you,if you don’t mind,tell us how the show was and what the movie was like? Also,when you do the meet and greet afterwards,would you mind asking them when the next dvd release is going to be? Thanks! You’re going to have fun because I went and seen them in Dallas back in June 09 when they did ALIEN FACTOR for the first time and it was hilarious..Have fun!

    Please, please, enough RATTLERS in NJ….the Newark and Morristown shows covered it. Everyone please vote for something else on the previous page link , for the Mccarter/Princeton show….this time, vote like your whole world ($28-38) depended on it! I’m voting for Samson vs the 7 dwarfs/ 7 seas ,whatever, because those pics are pretty funny already, and I don’t have the DVD……make my movie maciste!

    @ 34 – agreed. i saw them do “rattlers” in newark &, while it was a great riff & i’m excited for the DVD, i’d rather see something new. i also imagine that more than a few people will be going to both the morristown & princeton shows & won’t want to see the same riff twice. my vote for “samson” has been cast!

    @14 – So a concern like Fathom doesn’t pick up a dime of production costs in return for part of the proceeds? Okay….but it’s not like they let the local audience for the actual performance in for free at these things. The local show goes on and the ticket price there offsets the production costs. What they make after the broadcaster and the local theaters take their cut is gravy, no?

    How much could something like broadcasting these shows cost, anyway. Most of the things that get “simulcasted” like this – besides boxing matches – aren’t meant for the lowest common denominator (on Fathom’s website right now…operas, philharmonic performances, a documentary about a guy who ran 75 marathons in 75 days ???….and then there’s another company that broadcast a National Theater production of “Frankenstein” produced by Danny Boyle in several countries live from London). So it’s not like they’re banking of massive throngs of the general public….

    Speaking of which…

    “On a different note… $40 a seat in Phoenix? WTF, “Mesa Arts Center”, if that’s your real name. Greed much? A ticket for the Rifftrax Live shows were $12 and change.

    How about thinking of the fan’s bottom line and using a live show to distribute some of the “pain” among more people?
