Shout! Factory is selling its remaining stock of the MST3K: Vol. XIX Collector’s Edition DVD set, which includes the collectible Gypsy figure, for $36.99 (plus shipping and handling). If you’d like to order it, you’d better hurry. The sale ends on March 8.
On a related note: Have you wondered how they turned the six-foot tall bot into a six-inch tall collectible figure? GKS Global Services details how it used non-destructive 3D laser scanning technology to create an exact computer image of Gypsy, suitable for miniaturization.
Though I already own this set it’s great news, which I have relayed to friends who might be interested. I also posted the news in the off-topic area of some gamer forums, with a link to Satellite News of course. I love to shamelessly promote MST3K whenever possible.

So the Gypsy they scanned was missing the black “dial” on the back of her head, or did they eliminate that detail to keep costs down?
That article also makes it sound like there’s only one screen used Gypsy left in existence!

Another big deal kind of thing I noticed the other day while on Shout’s website is that they actually have the limited edition tin box version of the 20th Anniversary set in their store right now for $63. It says in the description that they had one last box of them that they discovered in storage, so anyone who wants one but wasn’t able to grab it when it was first released should probably act quickly. I already have the set myself, so I’m posting this here in the hopes that some real fans will get their hands on them instead of a bunch of low lifes who just want to put them up on eBay and Amazon for $150.

So when are they coming out with just the episodes and no figure like they did with XVI.

This is wonderful. Ordered.
Also I got a free stress ball with my order. Nobody’s mentioned that yet.

@Cronkite Moonshot — Thanks for the heads up on the 20th Anniversary Box! I wasn’t able to get one when they came out, and haven’t gotten one yet because of the inflated Amazon prices. I’m off to buy a copy!

How are you getting to the site with the sale?
This link is not working for me.

its listed as 49.99.
What’s it going for on amazon? Ebay?

No amount of laser scanning could ever capture the size of Gypsy’s love for Richard Basehart. <3

Interesting that they meticulosly scanned Gypsy while Crow and Tom appear to be modelled more after Steve Vance’s cover art. (Not that I mind – I love the Shout covers.)
It does bug me a little that Crow’s not quite to scale, though. But then, Tom IS very succeptible to “bulking up.” It would be like him to hit the gym before posing for his modeling session.

@Manny: Use the link-thingy in the original post above. It will take you straight to the sale XIX set (although Shout has the 49.99 XIX listed, too) and you can buy it at the discount price.

@Cronkite Moonshot -Thanks for the heads up!
Just ordered my 20th Anniversary tin; putting some of that tax return money to good use.
I haven’t bought a MST DVD set since Vol.4 (tough times, man; tough times), and I thought I’d never get one of these sets as prices just ballooned on the secondary market. To find out Shout! found a case of them just laying around and put them online, with apparent little fanfare or to-do, well, that leaves me absolutely thrilled and totally jazzed.
Thank you Shout! Factory!! !!!!

I’m going to order this straight away! I missed out buying it during the Amazon sale a few months back.

Shout Factory mentioned finding a case of the 20th Anniversary tins in a warehouse (or whatever the story was) in their email newsletter from, I dunno, about a year ago, but if you’re anything like you me you barely skim those (if you get them at all).
Still, I’m surprised they have any left. Either they misplaced quite a few, or that “limited edition” was’t as limited as they’d have us believe… I was lucky enough to come across a slightly dented one at my local Borders that just materialized one day long after the supply had dried up. And I had a sweet coupon. Woohoo!

Are they going to release this in a “just the DVDs” kind of set…?
I’d love the figurines but I’ve passed on the others and don’t really need a Gypsie right now…

I meant Gypsy.
Please don’t do me in for that… I come from a broken home, my big sister used to hit me and need a hug instead.

Nevermind… ordered. Along with Beginning of the End.
I’ll one day watch these on the black & white portable in the poor house.
Hurry up with that stress ball, I need it!
