The evening was fantastic. The Alien Factor is just about the perfect movie of Cinematic Titanic. Even though Legacy of Blood was announced they at the last minute they announced that they were going to show Rattlers. I would have been happy with either, but I have to admit I really enjoyed seeing Rattlers for the first time.

The shows totally ROCKED! I especially enjoyed the hairy monster in The Alien Factor & Rattlers was a treat from start to finish. Loved the ridiculous side trip to Vegas. Got a little flustered in the meet & greet line. Very surreal meeting childhood heroes. They were all kind & gracious. Totally worth the 5 hour drive from Indianapolis.

Yes, that edit was one of two major ‘wtf’ moments. Plus, it’s like the scriptwriter just threw up his hands and said, ‘I can’t do anymore with this ‘women’s lib’ angle!’ Though my guess is that the sudden need to go to Vegas was their way of having a tragic/scary encounter bring the leads closer together.

Of course, there also was that scene in the tent where suddenly an Army guy comes in shooting up snakes, and I think I did proclaim out loud, ‘what the he!!!?’

Wait, “Detroit” is a real place? I thought it was just a euphemism for a jobless, crime-riddled hellhole. Next you’ll try to tell me “Nickelback” is a real band…

Plastic folding chairs not so comfortable. Sound so-so. Presentation overall quite funny and an enthusiastic crowd. We laughed a lot, Trace in particular seemed to be in prime form. Great to see the titans live on stage. “Rattlers” was made by god for CT. Not sure why Josh does an Elvis Costello song, accompanying himself on bass no less. But they can all still riff like no one’s business.

My 4th go-round with CT (7th if you count double features) – lotsa fun, opening act, flix, meet & greet all-around. Only disturbing part – opening scene in “Rattlers” – 2 kids with soup bowl haircuts in a camper w. the folks – my brother Todd and I flashed back to the mid 70’s; unfortunately in the very next scene….and we were off & running! Love those monster shoes in Alien Factor!

Nickelback or anteaters are one thing. But don’t get me started on Maltese men.

Positives: This show was NOT in Detroit, it was in Royal Oak. A safe, nice suburb where you could go and get a meal between the features — need to make reservations because everywhere was PACKED. Sound was a lot better than last years show; a huge improvement. The show was hilarious.

Negatives: The seating sucked and the drinks were just way too strong (and expensive). Nearly everyone got tickets to the double feature, so they tried to switch it up, but there was a bit of repetition and the intros from the guys were a little off because of it.

    Best. Show. Ever.
