MST3K TributeBob Chipman, aka “MovieBob” at TheEscapist.com, has put together a nice little tribute to our favorite show. Nothing you don’t already know, here, but we, of course, agree with his sentiments. Thanks to Keith C. Smith for the heads up.

Well…..though he plays a bit ‘fast and loose’ with some of his ‘facts’ (MST considered the “Crown Jewel” of the Comedy Channel ???), this is actually a very nice and concise retrospective of the show’s past history………KUDOS, “MovieBob” !!!

I remember reading somewhere around Season 6 that MST3K was considered Comedey Central’s flagship series. At that time the show was on I think every night at midnight (Seasons 2 thru 6 reruns) and the MST Hour on everyday in the afternoon. It was on so much for a while I thought it was going keep playing on CC for another 10 years or more.
So I do believe MovieBob did get his facts correct.

The only (slight) problem I had was what he said about not really being able to see the show. At my last count, about 80+ episodes have been officially released, some being on iTunes and Netflix. And most others are on youtube and google. (of course, people should buy the ones on dvd.) I just thought the way he said it was mostly unavailable may turn off some people.

There is no “virus”, to the three idiots who need to spend money on better anti-virus scanners. So just stop it already.

Always nice to get such sound, constructive advice from those who are “non-idiots”. I guess I’d better advise the I/T department where I’ve worked for 26 years to throw away all of our national awards for staying on the cutting edge of technology, and to just “spend some money on better anti-virus scanners”. Problem solved!

Hi Laura!
This “idiot” is a published author! This idiot also had his virus scan go into overload the instant he clicked on the link!
But I bet you’re just the smartest gal in your fourth grade class, ain’t ya, you little dickens!

In 1994 my local cable provider, Paragon, set an unused channel aside for promoing channels that would be available when set top boxes became available that Summer. The Comedy Central spot began and ended with MST3K, so Bob is right: at one point in time CC really did value MST3K. They turned on it quite quickly and that pissed me off.
