Weekend Discussion Thread: Favorite Bill Corbett Moments

Every time we post an updated list of all the discussion topics we’ve done, alert regular “Crowschmoe” complains that we’ve somehow missed doing a “Favorite Bill Corbett moments” thread. Well, let’s rectify that!

As Crow, one of my favorite bits of his is in episode 902- PHANTOM PLANET, in which Crow expresses his outrage and dismay that he has dressed himself like a Solarite. It’s vintage Crow 2.0.

But I think my favorite moment is Bill as Leonardo “goodfella” DaVinci.

What’s your pick?

Crow Moment: Definitely in Jack Frost when Crow shows up dressed as a bear and Mike asks “Are you sure didn’t just hot glue some fur to yourself?” to which Crow responds “I wish!” As if he had absolutely no control over the fact that he had just done exactly that.

Brain Guy Moment: When Steffi gives “Brian” his fruit snacks and tells him to go to bed and he explains that he is “overtired” and is only complying with her request “Because I want to” so as to deny her any control over his actions.

I respect Trace’s Crow, but Bill’s always made me laugh the most.

    ^^ That’s ’cause he’s really Timmy!

Another one I like: In Time Chasers:

“So, in the future, kids become gay agents?”

I was responding to #150 when I put those upward pointing arrows in #152. Someone was quicker and got to the 151 spot first. :)

I may have missed some replies, but I Don’t think I saw anyone mention the funny first host segment from ‘Girl in Gold Boots’ when Crow was pissed at Mike and had to exact childish petty revenge on him by pouring beer on his most beloved objects. “There ya go! Revenge is sweet! Teach you a lesson in a biiig way!”

Servo as the girl in the movie made it even funnier, “Oh Crow, don’t you know he’ll kill you?” – “Don’t you worry your pretty little head about it, Servo”

Then a later host segment has Crow stripping and freaking Mike out, which is pretty funny too.

That kind of reminds me too of ‘Final Justice’ at the very end when Crow says “You know, this music makes me want to put triangles on my privates and dance around”. Mike: Oh, like in in the movie…
    Crow: Like in the what?…

Also I didn’t see mentioned from Touch of Satan when he thought he might be a witch, and then a frog. Then at the end selling his soul to “STAN”.

I also love the movie segment in ‘The Screaming Skull’ when we really get a taste of Crow #2’s much shorter amount of patience, as Kevin & Mike remarked in the interview extra from the dvd of ‘Merlin’.

The face pinched lady is just sitting there doing nothing and Crow suddenly jumps up and says “Can we help you movie lady?! Do you need a push or something?!”

He also shows his impatience in Merlin when the ‘John McEnroe’ guy’s mother calls and won’t stop talking and Crow keeps saying “Good…bye!..Goodbye!”

I can totally relate because I’m the same way.

Almost forgot his Jackie Coogan fashions bit in ‘The Space Children’. Especially when nobody wants to play and he goes off on them and forces the sketch. “No Mike! I’m hurting and I’ve got to lash out, and were going to see this thing through to the end!”.

Some more perfectly spoken riffs –

Girl in Gold Boots – camera shot on Greasy drunken dad – “Powder!!!”
Then girl says he’ll go out and make a fool of himself, Crow says “Why, because I excrete oil?!”

Track of the Moonbeast – “What havent we seen yet in this movie? Oh right, a scrawny drunken bowlers ass-cheeks, thank you”…Then he mimics his whiny voice perfectly, and yells as the moonbeast attacks him, “Don’t take my face grease!”
Also, “Then I dressed a pencil as a cop”, and “Oh wait they were MY feet. Heh”, and “Mother and I looked at it”.

Diabolik – mimicking the harvey Firestein voiced guy.

Century 21 Calling – “At the Annie Sprinkle show!”

Deadly Mantis – “But theres a mantis in my pantis!”, and “We really need you to stop talking funny and kill that big bug, over.”, and “Wait, You needed smoke?!”

Final Justice – When the little annoying bearded malta guy says “Heyyy!” and Crow says “I’m from Malta!”, and when Joe Don tells the kid to “pull it back hard” and Crow says “But I’m a Maltese male”.

Prince of Space – “well I’m back from break, any thing shaking?” and “Well that’s it for me, I’m dead”.

Space Mutiny – “Ow my mask!”

Future War – (Is God out there?) Crow: “He is OUT there!”, and “I’ll hit you so hard with this, you’ll go flying THAT way”

Riding With Death – “Were they butterballs?”, and “It’s so funny when a girl tries to do something”

Blood Waters of Dr Z – (All-German Explaining station): “Back after Zees”, and “You still in your jammies?”, and “Fishbites Mother!!”

Okay, last post I promise. But there was two things I kept forgetting to mention every time.

    1. In Diabolik, Bill says something as dirty as the deposition. Right near the beginning when Diabolik is driving with the rubber mask over his mouth and a helicopter is above him, he does the ‘Kenny from South Park’ muffled deal, and he says “Oh Shoot! a Freaking helicopter!” (not really those clean words though). and Kevin does a similar one again near the end when Diabolik became a golden Gumby.

    2. In Touch of Satan, when Steffi is having ‘Brian’ play with blocks, they are curiously arranged on the table to spell out B-U-M.

    You gotta love those guys.

I think my favorite Crow bit is the Mary Tyler Moore skit in “It Lives By Night”

one of my favorite riffs is in Screaming Skull, when there is a close up of the wife, then Crow says: ” I’m pleasant but I have issues “

There are so many, it’s just so hard to narrow it down…

Observer Hosts ‘The Nature of Bobo’ (Overdrawn at the Memory Bank)

Observers’ Flashdance audition for Mike (Horrors of Spider Island)

Crow trying to stay awake using various caffeine-charged substances, so as not to fall asleep and be taken over by an evil pod creature (The Giant Spider Invasion)

Crow as ‘Droppy, The Water Dropplet’ (Future War)

    Hippy Observer “Right Oon!”(Future War)

This is one of those great threads that just makes you laugh out loud recalling each example as you read them.

Somebody’s said it already, but I just gotta say it again.

3-eyed Crow: “Oh, so ‘radioactive’ automatically means ‘bad’ to you…”

I’m not sure which episode, though I think it was projected man, where Mike and the bots call down to get a ruling on whether all scenes would be bettter if the cast was naked. The whole bit is spot on but the part where we first see Bobo and Brain Guy listening to the Old Timey radio and Brain guy just looks straight at us and says “Yello”, is perfect.

    For me…Final Justice.

Hyper euro bad guy: “I’ll blow your brains OUT”

    Crow: “All over THE boat!”

As I type this I’m STILL laughing about it!

@ 113, Droppo….YES!! The “AGUA” from the Mexican Kids Show. That whole skit is absolutely hilarious. I had to stop the movie so I wouldn’t miss anything from laughing so long. That is one of my favorite MST episodes. Also, when they start doing push-ups Crow says “Hey, it’s missionary position practice”
