JoCoCruiseCrazy Videos

From the recently completed JoCoCruiseCrazy Cruise…

“Sparkly Vampires.”

Bill and Kevin riff “Shake Hands with Danger”

What I’m guessing is a new RiffTones song, “It’s a Trap!”

And, finally, JoCo and the whole crew join in for a re-creation of the United Servo Academy Choir.

I agree. It would have been awesome to be there for the Servo Academy.

Awesome. Anyone know if Kevin Murphy ever sang with an a cappella group in college? It sure sounds like it. That last line, “across the wide Missouri” is from Shenandoah, which I sang with the Harvard Glee Club.

It’s A Trap! was premiered at one of last year’s Midwest w00tstocks, either the Chicago or Minnesota one.

These, especially the Servo Academy song, make me officially jealous of everyone on that boat. Wow.

On a previous board I had mentioned that one day I’d love the chance to meet Kevin Murphy, and ask him how they actually came up with the amazing “wall of sound” production for the United Servo Academy Choir tune featured in the host segment of the Starfighters episode (MST #612)…….well, though I’d still love to meet the guy, I think my question has now been answered……….apparently, all it takes is a PERFECT blend of intricate vocal harmonies to create this stunningly incredible and sumptuously rich sound (no ‘artificial’ enhancement required!!!).

I am by no means a ‘music’ guy, but that is impressive by ANY standard……

And Mr. Murphy, if by chance you ever happen to read these things, you sir, are a GOD……..or, to be totally ‘pc’, a [insert the abstract being you choose to worship, here]…… :-)

Those were fun, but the Servo Academy Choir was awesome! I do miss the “inky dinky parle vu” part at the end of the skit, though.

Kevin Murphy has a such a wonderful voice. I do wish he would put out an album. I have an idea for one, and it will cost very little to produce. The title:

Kevin Murphy Sings the Public Domain!

That was neat seeing Shake Hands with Danger done live. I already have seen it a good ten times at least now, so it’s already pretty well committed to memory.
Thats a tune that stays with you too.

I like the studio version better, since they actually left out a few pretty good riffs.

It really worked well for me since I had been subject to a bunch of company related videos of the same ilk at work, and Shake Hands was real relevant for me.

I only wish I could have switched out a copy of it with one of the lame ones I had to watch. I even riffed on some of the work ones but quickly realized the rest of the folks were not candidates for watching riffed video (a sad reality many of you have encountered). I made myself laugh though.

I nearly wept at the Servo Men’s Chorus. Really, I didn’t know that the Rifftrax guys (where’s Mike?) could make my heart flutter like that. I miss MST3K so much, this was just wonderful.

I recommend that they do a few MST3K songs during their live shows from now on. I’d love to hear Let Me Be Frank About Frank, or any of the Sci Fi era songs. I wouldn’t miss those shows. I may travel out of state some distance. Please make it happen.

You know, I must have watched that damned Bob Dornan movie a dozen times just to see the Servo Academy Men’s Chorus bit. That was awesome.

I was on the cruise, it was an amazing time. Rifftrax also did the Grass short, which was even funnier to see the second time around, in the same theater with the riffers. Bill also staged his play “My Monster”, which everyone loved. I’m hoping next time around they convince Mike to come too!
