It was amazing. I have never laughed so much in my life. And getting everyone autograph was surreal. I will definitely go again next year and hopefully I’ll have more to say then “You guys are awesome, thanks for coming down” to everyone of them. Got a lil nervous

  4. Had a good time. Got 3 DVDs and the cast signed them all. I asked Joel if he had ever seen ‘Santa And The Ice Cream Bunny’. There was an audible groan from him and the rest of the CT guys.

A great show, as usual. Dave (Gruber) Allen couldn’t make the show, so the Titans did their own opening act. Frank sang a Christmas song (let’s just say “non-traditional”), Trace and Mary Jo read excepts from Trace’s book while J.Elvis played guitar, J.Elvis sang an Elvis Costello song, and Joel did some prop comedy, including juggling water and the sign-language translator (the latter of which Erhardt was called from the audience to assist with). As for the movie, it’s still incredible to me that they can find under-lit, barely-plotted remnants of the seventies after all these years. Great fun for all.

It was great. I knew it was going to be funny, but the jokes were spot on and the night was an A++. I have always thought the latter MST episodes were more funny, but after tonight I am going to rewach every Joel episode until I learn to love them.

I really wanted a picture with Mary Jo Pehl, and I did–with a KICK ASS photobomb:

One note: one of the editors from this site was there (I so wanted to come over and shake your hand–this place is great), and I saw him taking pictures. I would love to see them all posted here!

This was a great show. We didn’t realize they had previous shows but will not miss any more! We really appreciated the cast having the signature session and not turning anyone away. To the cast:we were about tenth from last and can’t tell you how grateful we were that you stayed and seemed happy to see us, even though we must have been the 500th person you saw. Best to all of you. Thank you!

The show was awesome! It was as good as Alien Factor, which is my favorite DVD release thus far. I really enjoyed the opening stuff, too. It’s great to see all of the cast show off their non-riffing talents.

SANTA AND THE ICE CREAM BUNNY is probably one of those movies Joel made reference to in a previous interview that are so bad, they can’t be riffed.

The show was awesome, as always! However…..man, was that a horrible movie! That was one of those movies that even with five of the funniest people on the planet making jokes about it, it was at times hard to sit through, especially during the nearly 10 minutes (or at least it FELT that long) of nothing but a black screen. The real highlight of the entire show for me this time was the opening stuff. Seeing Joel doing things from his old stand-up act (including a couple of things that were used as Invention Exchanges on MST3K) was AWESOME!!!! So was Joel and J. Elvis singing the MST3K theme song! Those are things I never, EVER thought I’d experience in person! Of course, another highlight of any CT show is getting to meet everyone after the show. Sure the line can get long…..VERY long, but it’s always worth the wait because everyone from the show is just so incedibly warm and nice to everyone. It’s always moments like that that remind me why I’ve loved MST3K for almost 20 years now! Thanks again guys for a doing what you do and making sure that your fans always have a wonderful time!

I feel your pain. Haven’t seen one show and definitely won’t ever seen one at this point.

I second some of the comments about the crew after the show–that line was crazy but they stuck it out, and that was great of them.

And I also know how many of you feel about never seeing them in person: I live in Hawaii and never thought I would see them, but I was lucky enough to be in town for a month on business and just as luck would have it they happen to have a show in town.

Stop, I’m getting depressed. Unless I move east, I guess I’ll never see a CT live event as they seem to not have Colorado on their map. Come on, Joel and the gang, you would do awesome in Denver and Boulder, and could get some skiing in at the same time!

Cinematic Titanic rocked the Family Arena in St. Charles (St. Louis) on Saturday night with their third show in as many years.

As mentioned above, Dave “Gruber” Allen was unable to appear, so the Titans performed their own warm up.

After a brief welcome by Josh Weinstein, the audience was treated to some stand-up from Frank Coniff talking about everything from Facebook and Twitter to the fact he loved appearing at the Family Arena–“a hockey arena in the middle of a field!”

Frank and Josh then teamed up for a song about Santa involved in an non-conventional enterprise–I’m no spoiler!

Frank then introduced Trace Beaulieu who presented three selctions from his book “Silly Rhymes for Belligerent Children,” two read by the author and third performed by Mary Jo Pehl.

Then Joel came out and reprised some of his prop humor, including two items from MST3K Invention Exchanges–the hand saw (in which Joel cuts off his fingers) and the sign language machine (with the assistance from Satellite News’ own Brian Henry). Joel was then joined by Josh who then performed the MST3K theme song.

Following a brief intermission, they began riffing on “Rattlers,” a 1976 release starring(?) Sam Chow as Dr. Tom Parkinson, a herpoltologist assigned to investigate a series of rattlesnake attacks in the Nevada desert. Elisabeth Chavet appears as Ann Brady, a feminist photographer who is hired to assist Parkinson.

The riffs during the first ten minutes seemed a little sparse, but then the CT crew shifted into overdrive.

Eventually the snake attacks are linked to a nerve gas called CT-3, which had been buried in an abandoned mine, which just happened to be where the rattlesnakes nested. When one cast member asked what CT-3 was, Mary Jo replied that it stood for Cinematic Titanic–3-D!!! Which got a huge response from the audience.

All in all a great show from CT was enjoyed by the folks in the Gateway City.

At #6: Great photo, Justin. You should try to assemble a collection of pictures of the Brains with Frank in the background. Looks like Mary Jo suffers from the same eyes-closed-in-photos problem I’ve struggled with for years.
