That’s it guys, keep avoiding Denver. Keep going to places just a few hours from previous shows.

I agree w/ BIG61AL…When are you coming to Colorado???

Didn’t you guys see on Facebook where CT wants all of us to contact our local theaters requesting them to perform there?

  7. Teenage Cavegirl says:

#6 – Yeah, I think that’s their nice way of saying they don’t control where their gigs are, so quit whining about them dissing you and your fair city/state. They go where they’re wanted/paid.

  8. ItaloNorman says:

I did see that request from CT. The problem is that, like most mid-sized US cities, there are many places where CT could perform. Which of them should locals send their request?

Italonorman, I recommend picking the most plausible theater — one that already has live events that appeal to the college-age crowd — then organizing a write-in campaign. There are enough Colorado fans on this board for you to make an impact if you all coordinate.

  10. ItaloNorman says:

Jere7my, you make a sensible suggestion. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure that I don’t have time to coordinate this. So, I guess I should stop complaining about not being able to see new CT material. I had this crazy idea that, maybe, I could just buy a ticket and go see them. I wish that CT would find a way to get more new material to a broader audience in a timely manner. I’m hooked, and 2 DVD releases a year just isn’t enough. Having said, that I can see that refining their material with a live audience has improved their riffing.

Well, consider me one of those who whines a lot (albeit internally) about CT not coming to Pittsburgh… hehe. Any other Pittsburghers (or Pittsburgh Metro Area-ers) who’d be interested in talking about some way to get them here?

    @6

That only works if you actually have a local theatre. I don’t have one. That’s why I’ve been emailing different venues in Atlantic City and Sun National Bank Center in Trenton. And since none of the venues want to get back to me, I just won’t patronize them with my business.

  13. Gary Bowden says:

@12 If you want to see CT bad enough,I’d pester them until they got back to me.The venues are probably real busy and don’t have the time to get back, but don’t give up until you do get an answer..Besides,I live in Fort Smith,Arkansas and there probably isn’t a big CT or MST3K fan base here(a few maybe),so it wouldn’t make sense for them to come here. They have to bring in the crowds and make money in order to continue. If CT went to Tulsa,I would go.I went to see them in Dallas last year and it was well worth it.It’s like those real famous rock stars, they’re not going to come here, but somewhere closer and where they can attract a bigger audience and who are willing to pay a certain price for tickets.. Whining won’t do any good,so pester them as much as you can! Or until they file a complaint,of course.. :-D

  14. Laura says:

I have pestered them! Not so much as a “Thanks, we’ll look into it.” (apparently that’s asking too much). I’ve emailed several people at the different venues. Since they can’t be bothered to get back to me, then I just won’t bother attending any other shows at those venues.

Pittsburgh? Really? People in Denver have valid reason to gripe. There hasn’t been a CT performance within a ~12 hour drive of Denver. But if you live in Pittsburgh, you could easily drive to a performance.

And why hasn’t CT taken a page from the Rifftrax book and done a Fathom simulcast event?

So, you are never going to come further southwest than San Francisco?

  18. jere7my says:

Laura@12, you’re willing to go to Trenton, but you’re not willing to go to Princeton, which is 12 miles from Trenton?

How big is your yard? Maybe you can get them to do a show you can see from your porch.

  19. HeatUpTheDeathRay says:

@16: Um, if by “easily,” you mean a six or seven-hour drive, with added expenses for hotel accommodations, food, etc., then sure, it’s “easy.” Some of us don’t have that sort of time or money, though, and would like them to come a little closer.

Geez, you would think people on this board could be a little more polite and understanding to one another, since we are all MST3K/CT/Rifftrax fans.

I would just add that I really like the RiffTrax model of broadcasting to theaters. This goes a long way towards making the material available to those in cities. I would guess that those in more remote rural locations would still have difficulties.

All I want is a new DVD. Is that too much to ask for? Really? I don’t even mind if they do another live one. Just in time for Christmas would be perfect for me. Please?
