    Mary Jo
I am sorry that you are not properly compensated for your past work. While my purchases of that past work do not now give you financial rewards, I do purchase every DVD released through Cinematic Titanic. And I certainly will go to as many of your live shows that I can get to when I am able.
As with all your work, past or present, you have my fondest thanks, my deepest respect and my unwavering adulation.

    Woah…
While she doesn’t dwell on it there seems to be some venom there toward Mallon. I’m not sure just how to take that. How can she not get any royalties? I guess who knows what the terms of employment were there.
I also found her “repackaging” comment odd. I don’t see it as repackaging as Shout is yet to release a movie that could be previously had. When (and I guess it’s inevitable) that happens I’ll be upset myself. But in the meantime at least everything is a first release.

Sorry to hear she doesn’t get royalties. She’s classy about it, anyway; she’s honest about where she’s coming from but quickly changes the subject.

And the rest is a nice, positive interview. I do enjoy CT and wish they’d come back to Phoenix metro.

I agree, Dan, I don’t know what she means by “repackaging and repackaging.” It kind of sounds like she thinks they’re re-releasing the same episodes over and over in new artwork.

I doubt her comment was specifically about being mad at those who get royalties, since Joel and I think Kevin and Trace also get them. But I bet a lot of fans assume everyone on MST3K got royalties, and she probably fields those questions a lot at CT signings, which would be frustrating.

The comment about being bitter toward Mallon is refreshing, though. In the last couple of years, it seems like the CT crew have been more open about how they feel about the MST3K experience. I can’t recall anyone from RiffTrax making comments, but perhaps that’s just bad memory on my part.

This was one of the better interviews I have read.
Good questions. Good insight. Good information from Mary.

I think she has opened a whole can-of-worms with the Mallon comments.
I thought they were all gettting comp on the sets as well.

I thought I read that Joel and Jim are the only 2 who make money from the DVDs- Mike has stated he does not, which is weird for me as he was the friggin’ head writer for nine years and star of the show for five!
