Busy Weekend, Especially in Boston

Here’s a rundown of this busy weekend coming up, espcially for you folks in the Boston area.

Thursday, Oct. 28
• Boston area: The Cinematic Titanic cast will again speak at MIT. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. 5-7 p.m.
• Approximately 500 theaters nationwide: RiffTrax Live. They’ll riff on “House on Haunted Hill” (lots of new riffs, they promise) and also a couple of shorts with the help of comedian Paul F. Tompkins.

Friday, Oct. 29
• Boston: Cinematic Titanic will do one show (the premiere of a new riff, “Rattlers”) 7:30 p.m. at the Wilbur Theater, 246 Tremont St., Boston. Looks like assigned seating. Tickets are $40.

Saturday, Oct. 30
• Halifx, Nova Scotia: Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy will be guests at the Hal-Con sci-fi convention at the Lord Nelson hotel. There’ll be a Q& A, an autograph session and in the evening the Canadian premiere of the New MST3K: Volume 19 set from Shout! Factory.

Sunday, Oct. 31
• Boston: Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett will appear in the “W00tstock” show, also at the Wilbur Theater.

Please tell me they’re NOT going to give that same boring lecture on quantum physics again……….I mean, I love those guys (and gal!), but SNORE !!!!!

Especially the bit where TV’s Frank goes on (and on, and on…… ) about sub-atomic particles and their impact on television comedy in the 80’s, 90’s and beyond………YAWN !!!!!

If anybody attends, PLEASE let us know if they do anything new……. :-D

According to the Comparative Media Studies page at MIT, it’s just going to be Trace and Mary Jo this time. (Last time it was Trace and Joel, and they really dug into the behind-the-scenes stuff.)
