“I will never in a million years understand this kind of attitude. Are you people fans of this show or not?”
I have bootlegs. Sure, I would love to see the season on DVD at any point, but as I don’t see that ever happening EVER, I would be satisfied with Cinematic Titanic redoing the films they didn’t do later on in the series.
They re-did a lot of them much better later on, with better jokes and delivery (reusing some of them from the KTMA show)… I would be content with CinTi revisiting the ones that slipped through the cracks, mainly because… as stated… I have the bootlegs of the KTMA shows, and to be perfectly honest, the episodes just weren’t that good.
If they ever release them, I will be thrilled and buy every bit of it, but I still won’t think that will improve them much at all.
That doesn’t mean I am not a fan.

Oh, and I forgot… the point I was trying to make in the first place was that I actually find the movie “SST Death Flight” to be hilarious just on its own.
I don’t care if it’s KTMA or CinTi or Rifftrax, I just want to see that movie with riffs all nice happy clean and restored. If I got that (and City on Fire) then I’d be happy.
Ultimately, I would LOVE to see everything ever made by the Brains on new polished DVD… and I would say that it’s just not gonna happen, but Pink Floyd reunited for a show, so hey, anything’s possible.

Fantastic packaging. How some people are comparing it to the recent movie release’s packaging is beyond me. This is tasteful and quality work from Shout Factory. Way above Rhino’s pathetic offerings.
Personally, I can take or leave the KTMA episodes. I’ve seen some of them and, while they’re charming, they’re not of the best quality, humorwise. Even if they were released on DVD, they would sit right at the bottom of my MST3K DVD-buying priority list. There’s just not a lot of “bang for your buck” there, so to speak. I don’t object to their being released of course, but I don’t pine for them. And don’t you dare question my fandom. True fans don’t judge other fans’ devotion. ;)

I don’t judge. I agree wholeheartedly.
Maybe have a disc with long segments from specific KTMA episodes or something like that? I wouldn’t want them to waste too much space on much of that. Nostalgia be damned. Leave the room for the best and funniest stuff.

I wonder if there will be 6 episodes in the set? Like has been previously mentioned, that box looks awfully thick… unless, of course, it’s just a tin that holds 4 individual cases.

It does look like it could hold more than 4 DVDs…maybe it will hold more..maybe there is some mst3k goodies thrown in the tin as well…like a honey baked tom servo or something

I know they’re not the best, but I’d be first in line to buy MST3KTMA:The Complete KTMA Season box set.

Meh. Super-generic cover art.
I’ll still buy it.

I’m still hoping there’s a Beez blow-up doll in there.

I was more blown away by the size of the box set than the actual design. Yes, its included the two most recognizable symbols of the show…so did the original one-disc copies Rhino originally released on DVD! Maybe it will include more detail once the particular episodes are announced; it just looks like something I could’ve come up with if given fifteen minutes.
I know there’s a great deal of speculation regarding what exactly will be on this box set. First off, I would LOVE it if it were a six-disc, as opposed to the standard four-disc, set. I wouldn’t mind putting down the extra cash to pre-order it if that were the case. It certainly looks like it could hold that much, and then some. I think it would be incredibly ironic if the episodes included such oft unmentioned episodes like “Stranded in Space”, “High School Big Shot”, and “The Black Scorpion”. :???: Talk about a “WTF!!!” moment if that was the case.
Personally, I would love to see any of the Russo-Finnish movies they riffed make it to dvd.

Oy with the bloody tins. Just give me the damn product for a reasonable price.

Hah! Rhino doesn’t know what they are missing!!!

“Oh my God! It’s full of stars!”
I don’t care what you nay sayers think. The tin looks pretty darn good to me. There’s something to be said and appreciated about understated.

The riffing may have been haphazard in KTMA days, but the host segments were still as funny with Trace and Josh.
That packaging is disappointing, because it would appear out of sync with the past volumes, although Rhino has done this before, so it’s nothing we’re not used to. I’m sure SF will make it work for everybody somehow.
We need another SST in our lives, by the way. Just a bunch of stupid celebrites in a disaster situation. Billy Blanks, Lindsay Lohan, and Billy Mays must defuse a neutron bomb on a tractor. in omaha. or something. Tractor reactor 2000, this saturday, on CBS!

What are the odds this is just a mock-up? It doesn’t even have the Shout Factory logo on it. Maybe they needed *something* out there to judge interest/get the pre-orders started…
And I agree – it’s waaay too big to be holding four DVD cases.

As a fan with a small collection, less than half of the run, I’m hip for episodes I don’t have on DVD or translated DVD. I’m so light on Seasons 3 and 6 that I practically have none of it (just 12 out of 48). This lack is not simply a matter of don’t have but NEVER SEEN. I won’t hold my breath for the Toho material. The Godzilla vs. Megalon debacle is all I need to know about Toho’s attitude toward the show. So, Shout! Factory, I urge you to lean heavy on Season 6, a year the show was polished, had Mike in the lead, and Trace on Crow, as in Trace on drum, an instrumental phraseology and nothing more.

:?: :?: :?: :?: :?: So is there ANY info on this set? This is my first post on this site, been visiting for years..anyhoo, just a newbie sayin’ HI to all fellow Misties, and hope SOMEONE can fill us in soon on the details..like how many and what movies, are there extras – REAL extras, not trailers for the movies, or the Poopie stuff we’ve seen released a few times before. How about the deleted scenes from MST3K:The Movie? Making of stuff, hell, even that old Scrapbook video put on DVD would be cool…

I urge the people at Shout Factory to give the people what they want, Mike & Joel episodes and ignore the whining over sleeve art.

The box appears way too large for 4 slim-packs. Perhaps there are more episodes or some other extra “cool things” packed in the box? Not long to wait now to find out, Comic-Con is only about 10 days away.

“So is there ANY info on this set?”
The info you seek will be revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con in less than two weeks. Stay tuned.

If it contains “Santa Claus”…I WANTS it, prrrreciousssss.
I only have SANTA CLAUS on an OK dvd. It’s a mainstay at my house every Chistmas (It’s just not Christmas for my son and daughter without it). Wife, of course, tolerates it.
I mean…an evil Jaimie Farr clone/devil in fuzzy slippers….what can be better.
Lupita! NOOOooooo!

I just got say that I have a soft spot in my heart for the KTMA episodes. I think many are kinda funny (Phase IV, City on fire, SST Death Flight) and it really does feel like you are WATCHING the movie with them. It’s not for everybody but, come on, how many shows have a cool public access season?

I’m not asking for much…perhaps footage from the panel discussion and the Comic-Con festivities as bonus and some KTMA or season 1 episodes? And thanks, Sampo, for the recognition. I now get my posts automatically added!
