Shout! Factory Whoopsie

Apparently some early promotional material released by Shout! Factory for the Mystery Science Theater 3000: 20th Anniversary Edition DVD box set has “Laserblast” and “Werewolf” listed as two of the episodes that will be included. But this may not be the case. Here is Shout!’s official response to our inquiry:

Unfortunately, Laserblast and Werewolf were accidentally included in temp copy for Shout! Factory’s 2008 catalog, which was sent out to the printer prior to any titles being licensed.  In addition, our team was licensing enough titles for not only the 20th Anniversary Edition, but our second release coming early next year at the same time.  The four films that will be included in our 20th Anniversary Edition will be officially announced during our special reunion panel at San Diego’s Comic-Con International later this month.

I guess we’ll just have to wait a couple more weeks to know exactly what the titles are. Stay tuned!

Perhaps if one looks at the Comic-Con website then the dates for it might be revealed. I’ve heard that a series of tubes called the “Internet” has all kinds of information on it that can be divined by using “search engines” on a “computer” with a “browser”.

Seriously, why ask here for the dates of Comic-Con or any other major event when this is information that can be readily found by anyone with a computer? Anyone who can post here can find it on their own.

Fred P, the San Diego Comic-con is July 24-26.

Bob, was it really that hard to just answer the question? A new MST3K set is coming out. We should be celebrating, not attacking each other.

In total agreement, Dr. Henry Krasker. Bob apparently thinks this is a grammar class rather than an on-line discussion about a puppet show!

    (Don’t worry, Bob, I spell-checked before submitting this! I wouldn’t want you to think I’m an i-m-b-i-s-s-i-l!)

Attacking each other? I wasn’t the one calling people, “imbissils”. Perhaps a review of the posts above is in order.

As for providing dates for Comic-Con, well, teaching someone to fish is better than giving them a fish unless you want to be spoon-feeding people info all the time they can easily look up themselves.

Apples to oranges, Bob; people here do help those who are new to the site, or don’t follow it everyday the way you seem to. What you’re suggesting is that these people who inquire about specific information are equivalent to habitual welfare-cases. There’s no crime involved in telling people who aren’t up to snuff about release dates, and accompanying information, what’s going on.

As for previous posts, I was referring to your needless scathing on review #27. Personally, I think your parents neglected you! That’s why you’re so condescending and full of hatred.

  6. Honestly, my only hope is that they don’t duplicate efforts already made by Rhino. Give us stuff that hasn’t been released yet!

No, what I’m suggesting is that:

    1) You shouldn’t call people stupid (or imbeciles) if you’re too stupid to spell it.
    2) That forums in general are full of questions that clog them up with needless posts asking for information from other members that is easily available. That’s why many forums have moderators that close threads or delete posts when they get off topic.

Now perhaps the fact that you won’t leave me alone says something about your personality issues.

This rumor just won’t die as it’s been covered here on Satellite News and on the Shout Factory website several times. Shout Factory has emphatically stated that they have no interest in re-hashing material already available from Rhino Video, they will be releasing episodes not currently available. My last comment on this: Bob, I think thou protest too much.

I was simply coming to the aid of another person who had questions.

In the end, I come to this site to talk about the show I love. You’re the one who initiated this, and I don’t take challenges lying down.

Your “personality issues” are your own. Move on; I already have.
