He quotes Mike, Kevin and Bill, and includes 9 MST3K movies and 5 RiffTrax movies. Some of the pictures don’t match the movie he’s talking about. He also includes a couple of titles I’ve never heard of, but which sound interesting. And I think he’s dead wrong about “Tremors,” and I don’t care who knows it.
I agree, Tremors is a pretty good film. How can you go wrong with Micheal Gross from Family Ties as an NRA activist?

What hadn’t you heard of? Sins of the Fleshapoids and The Monster’s Ship?
I’ve heard of the former, though I’ve never seen it.
Just imagine if Giant Spider Invasion had been graced with the production values pictured in accompanying still!

I’m kinda surprised no one has mentioned that Horror On Party Beach also has an incorrect photo (I don’t remember any sort of decapitation in the original…)
SODIUM!

Who confuses a Harryhausen movie for something by Bill Rebane? That’s clearly a Mysterious Island shot. Also, the still shown for Horror of Party Beach is from a different Del Tenney film – The Curse of the Living Corpse.
And yes, Tremors should be promptly removed from such a list.

Is the new Clash of the Titans really that cheesy, or is it just the new hotness?

Tremors . . . fun and original.
Tremors 2 . . . a little less fun, about as original, not bad overall.
Tremors 3 . . . *sigh*
Tremors the Series . . . decidedly goofy, but kinda fun.
Tremors 4 . . . not going to dignify that with a response. Except that it’s potential riffing material.

I also disagree with placing “Tremors” on the list. I thought it was a pretty good flick. Interesting concept, casting, special effects and story. The sequels got progressively worse, despite Michael Gross.
I (sheepishly) admit I have almost all the movies on the list (except the newest ones and that Mexican monster movie). Sins of the Fleshapoids is an almost unwatchable piece of s#!t, which is mitigated only slightly by it 45 minute running time.
I have to ask–where is “It’s Pat”? That one (to quote Mel Brooks) stunk on ice.

Yeah, Tremors and Slither are both intentionally cheesy (and both are a lot of fun). I really wouldn’t put too much stock in lists like this. Whenever these articles l come out it’s painfully obvious that the writers just do a quick Google search of “cheesy movies” and call it a day after copying down the the top results.
However, I will say that the article got me to track down Sins Of The Fleshapoids. From the screenshots I’ve seen, it looks like something John Waters would have made in the 1970s if he took himself completely seriously.

How can you consider that the author has any credibility, when he put “Tremors” and “Slither” on the list. Those are some of the handful of movies that are good enough that if I’m surfing and I come across them I’ll watch from that point on. They don’t take themselves too seriosly they’re in on the joke. I kind of hope “Piranha 3-D” is like that too. My wife has expressed interest in seeing it and she usually doesn’t like sci-fi/horror but she ,like me, very much enjoyed “Slither” and “Tremors”.

Tremors? No, Tremors is a great movie.
Also, why is The Best of Yucca Flats on there? To call it “cheesy” is giving it far too much credit than it deserves.

How can they make a mistake by putting a photo of MYSTERIOUS ISLAND instead of one from THE GIANT SPIDER INVASION???

No…”Tremors” does not belong on that list.

I guess don’t understand. It seems that a lot of the folks commenting feel that cheesy=bad. Personally, I love a good cheesy movie, and Tremors is most definitely that. I don’t agree with a lot of the film choices here, but I think Tremors is a pretty good one. I really thought maybe we’d see the original House on Haunted Hill or another William Castle film make the list. Actually, Spider Baby was the first film to come to mind. Ah, well. To each his own.

I’m going to go against the group here and say yes to Tremors being on the list, if only for the special effects. Slither, I agree shouldn’t be there. Otherwise, it’s an alright list. I wish they’d done a bit more research, especially with the incorrect photos.

While many of the choices are good, I strongly disagree about including Tremors.
It’s essentially a throwback to ’50s scifi (or is that scyfy  movies)
and works as fun. Especially the way some of the cast are eaten, but not all.
And Kevin brings home the bacon, playing his character just enough over the
top, and the basically chaste love interest (aqctually, I thhought she was cute
even when KB was put off. Perhaps best was the survivalist couple.

I love Tremors, but how, exactly, is it NOT cheesy? Its cheesiness is what makes it so enjoyable. Or is intentional cheese not cheesy?
Damn, I just made myself hungry. :D

Can’t wait to see Pirhana 3D, a friend and I are heading down to our favourite “midnight movie” type theatre to see it tomorrow.

Oh good, now there are a bajillion and *one* pedantic movie lists online. Really, almost every movie in my vast collection is cheesy in one way or another. What’s really amusing is seeing the 3D fad die for the umpteenth time.

The thing about Tremors is that it’s cheesy, but it’s also a good movie. And really now, the special effects in Tremors are good as is the entire cast, so that elevates the movie above the others in that list.
Like I said before, The Beast of Yucca Flats doesn’t belong this list either, but only because it’s so awful.

Tremors and Slither do not belong on that list.
Attack of the Puppet People is really awful. And I mean REALLY AWFUL!!!

And Pirhana 3D looks REALLY AWFUL too!

How many times must I say it? Trog! Joan Crawford in nice pant suites soldiering on with tiny cars, terrible makeup and indecipherable Brit dialog.
I agree with most of the above; Tremors was fine or at least, good enough.

One thing’s for sure, I need to track down a copy of “Sins of the Fleshapoids” right quick.

Tremors is a great film and I even think Tremors 2: Aftershocks was pretty good. Tremors 3, 4 and the series….cheesier than Wisconsin.

The original Tremors was a terrific movie. The “cheesiness” of it was done deliberately, which added to its charm. A monster movie which didn’t take itself too seriously. Definitely doesn’t belong on buddy’s list. The sequels, on the other hand…

I don’t think the new Clash of the Titans is cheesy at all. The orginal one was.

Trog….Now that would be great to done on rifftrax live!

I liked “The Avengers.” I think the problem may be that in the UK “The Avengers” is a classic sci-fi spy series from the 60’s and in the US it’s the name given to a superhero team. Hence the article’s author calling the film a superhero film. Okay, the scene with the villains in the multicolored bear suits was really weird.
I’m surprised none of these lists ever has Star Crash: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Crash
The rare Italian ripoff without Donald Plesance, it does have David Hasselhoff and some of the worst special effects ever seen. It also has a police robot who speaks with a Southern accent.

It’s a decent list, although I’m going with the majority here and say that Tremors doesn’t belong due to being intentioanlly 100% camp from start to finish. To say that these are the TOP 24 cheesiest movies of all time would be a stretch. I’m guessing that several of Corman’s sci-fi films in the ’50’s alone could easily out-cheese some of these choices.
I think other MST movies not mentioned, that would at least be candidates in this category, include Space Mutiny, It Conquered the World, Teenage Caveman, and Teenagers From Outer Space. Each film has a preposterous creature/character within them, and that helps make a movie earn that special grade of “cheese”.

To #23 (Unga Khan)–
Sins of the Fleshapoids can be obtained from Netflix. It is amazing what Netflix has in its inventory. But, remember, you have been warned!
