Hmm, I think that’s the best interview I’ve ever read with these guys. Really got into their writing process. And no inane MST3K questions!
also, coming soon —
MN: We’re doing the John Travolta TV movie The Boy in the Plastic Bubble.

Ditto ;-)
The author was obviously either a fan, or well briefed on the show and its concept. These were interesting questions that I wanted to know about.
For example;
[Slant: . . . You mentioned wanting to keep things PG, and obviously that made sense when you were on basic cable, but now even when you’re riffing on sometimes R-rated movies, you do still tend to stay relatively family-friendly. Why make that decision?]
The interviewer is obviously part of the current media trend that obscenity = grown up, and I was glad to see this question asked and answered. Not something we have heard in any of the T.V. interviews.
Good job on both sides of the mike.

I really hope they were serious about The Boy in the Plastic Bubble and not just trying to be wacky.

“And then basically we try to get the other guy to screw up and that keeps it nice and fresh and spontaneous.”
Hee hee heeeee. That’s one thing I do love about this trio’s riffing style. It feels so much looser and spontaneous and actually trying to crack each other up. Making the heavy scripting feel so much less scripted.
