That’s cool.
On a different note: Something that’s been bugging me for a while. But was there ever plans for Mystery Science Theater 3000 the comic book? I seem to remeber seeing an ad once about ten or fifteen years ago in a Previews catalog for a MST3K comic book and the cover was Mike and the bots commenting on a scene from a 1960/70’s Magnus: Robot fighter or Turok comic book.

The comic book thing sounds like one of the projects Valiant had in the pipelines before the speculator bubble burst and killed them. But there’s nothing I can confirm. Any other comic buffs out there?

Yeah, I remember seeing MST3K the graphic novel being a project years ago in an issue of Wizard. After a few years of not seeing anything I looked it up to see what happened. It fell into the list of CANCELLED projects from that publisher. Previews often have solicitations for projects that can still be cancelled before the street date. I’ve seen it far too often. MST3K the comic was not to be. Sadly.

Here is a little more information about the proposed comic, from our FAQ section:

Pretty neat. (The trading cards, that is – not the cancellation of the comic boo-er, graphic novel).

I will keep it next to my 1956 Topps Mickey Mantle!

Love the fact that the guys are illustrated wearing the “Plan 9” outfits! Perfect. Can’t wait to see the CT version…

That’s supposed to be Mike?!!?

I agree, “Fancy Man”……….Mike (and Bill), in my opinion, are poor likenesses……..Kevin, on the other hand, looks somewhat “Keviny”……
Then again, I couldn’t draw ANYONE’s likeness, if my life depended on it !!!!!

Ok, I’m just glad to see that there at one time was a proposed comic book. For a while I thought maybe I’d dreamed it or something.

I think they’re pretty decent likenesses of all three of the guys!

I think they are supposed to be “mostly” like the guys but also somewhat like the Plan 9 characters :)

# 16 Erik: I’m glad you said that! I initially had that impression too, but figured it was probably just me.
