I gotta be honest, I thought it was okay, but not their best work by a long shot. The biggest laugh is the one everyone references “Rudolph, I need you tonight”, and it’s not even a riff. I love Rifftrax, but this was not anywhere near as funny as say, “Danger on Tiki Island”.

And yes, I know DOTI is CT, not Rifftrax. :)

…….and I just noticed that this is the wrong thread. Ignore me, please. You’ll be doing me a favor.

Cool, a short from the 1980s. I hope they can find this one short about good study habits that I saw when I was a kid. I clearly remember the kid in the movie, giant headphones on, getting his stereo shut off and saying, “What happened to my music?” After another bit of dialog, he says, “What about my music?” You have to imagine those lines being said in a kind of lazy, teenage voice.

That said, please Rifftrax, make some more DVD compilations already!

Couldn’t agree with Mikek more on that! I’m just not into downloading audio tracks, I’d rather have all the shorts and movies they riff on one tidy dvd. (And yes, I know they can’t do that with the newly-released movies they riff).

They really ought to do more safety shorts. All the ones I can remember are among the best of the Rifftrax shorts: “Down and Out” with the poor guy who kept falling off…everything (“Don’t go near those stairs, you won’t last the day!”); “Your Chance to Live”, which I think was a safety film (“Fire…another thing that exists”); and of course “Shake Hands With Danger” (“We had our crack sniper shoot Glen to prove a point about safety.”)

This one…oh dear. A cast of utter morons, cheesy synth music, cheap but melodramatic visuals (“crush your kid’s toy car!”). As Mike says, all that was missing was Troy McClure.

I particularly enjoyed seeing the geeky guy running a pristine IBM 8088 complete with two 5-1/4 floppy drives (and probably no hard drive) and green screen monitor. That was the first computer I ever used professionally. Yeah, I’m old.
