A little steep, but hey, it’s all for a good cause.

I’m really starting to think it might actually be something of a surprise since it’s on April 1st. If the real goal was to test the servers and get as many people as possible to be online then wouldn’t it make more sense to make it free? And didn’t they just do exactly that on an even bigger scale with the free hour long Comicon panel webcast the other night? Yes it kind of feels like the Comicon webcast was the real test, and that there really might be more to this one than they are saying. I’m going to spend the $0.25 to check it out. No matter what happens it will still be fun to see the short.

@Cronkite Moonshot Nah, I think it’s a legit test of the “pay to play” aspect of the system. Also this one will probably draw a bigger crowd b/c they are marketing more.

Yeah exactly, part of what went wrong with the Planet of Dinosaurs erm.. “event”.. was the system got overloaded with too many transactions to the database. We’d like to test that out as well but I’m not sure even *this* event will be big enough to test that!

Feels like they’re testing the “event” system on a regular basis and trying to make some money off of it–I’d watch for a quarter, but if they’re planning on charging anything beyond that, er, no thanks.
(And I’m guessing I would be amiss in expecting to see Peter Lorre in this one?) :|

Just watched this event…very funny, even with the occasional freezeups. There seemed to be more freezeups in the encore.
But a good deal for my quarter! Thanks Rifftrax!

It froze a little bit, mostly during the 1st showing for me (the short was shown twice) but it was pretty funny

It’s a pretty funny short. The woman in it reminds me of Mr. B (shudders). It froze quite a bit for me though, mainly during the first showing.

It’s a good short. I have absolutely no freezing issues at all unlike the last few times I tried to watch their livestream (though to be fair, I’m on a newer laptop now)…

I didn’t have any freeze ups at all, either in the first or second run through. Fun little short too.

I forgot about it. :|

You guys that have the issues, can you tell me what type of Internet connection you have? We lowered the bitrate this time lower than it was before to help ease that, and there are a few other things we want to try.. but as you can see, some people had trouble, while others didn’t – in the end a lot of it boils down to network connections local to the person watching it. We have a fiber connection at the office, so it’s definitely not an issue with our network – but it could be that the video is too high quality.
…
Also, some people forget that sites like Facebook, twitter, etc., will do asynchronous reloads / updates of their pages, and this sometimes causes lag that is in your browser due to a CPU spike, not necessarily your connection or the feed itself. Something to keep in mind.

FWIW, I wouldn’t lower the bitrate any farther than you guys did… There were a couple of close ups of animals that got really choppy (at least on my connection)…

It ran beautifully for me, not even a hiccup. Pretty funny too.

Drat I paid my quarter then utterly forgot all about it. I guess the rifftrax folks can consider my two bits a tip for their great stuff. XD;

I was hoping for “Mr. Moto Hosts An Orgy”.

Ran perfectly on my poopie oldish computer too. I just have a regular high speed cable connection. I do not have wireless though so that might make a difference for folks.

It ran rather smoothly for me (rather fast cable internet over a wireless router). A few little split second hiccups early in the first showing, and one moment where the image froze for about five seconds while the audio continued. I had to hit the little reload button on the player to get it going again, which it did in just a few seconds. I had no problems with the repeat.
