Weekend Discussion Thread: Favorite MST3K-Related Web Sites

Alert reader David writes:

Now that Satellite News has revamped the Umbilicus links page, we readers could suggest and discuss websites that enhance our MST experience. I have my favorites, and I’m sure you do too (needless to say, Satellite News is tops on my list).

As a relatively new MSTie, the internet has been essential to deepening my appreciation of the show. The web abounds with largely fan-made sites featuring episode reviews, show histories, cast interviews, screencaps, video clips, and annotated reference guides.

There are a lot fewer sites than there used to be, but there are still some very good ones out there.

One note about this: Our system gets very suspicious of comments with links in them (because we are trying to keep spam out). So it might be best if you DON’T include the “http://” part of the URL of any sites you list. If you do, you might find your post held up in our “pending approval” queue.

One other request: We’re a family site, and we’d really rather you didn’t post links to sites that have adult content or links.

Upgrade an old tape to VHS? Um, no. DVD. I meant DVD.

And one I just recently discovered —

    Kernunrex: Home of the Chronocinethon
    (http://kernunrex.blogspot.com/2006/01/mystery-science-theater-3000.html)

This guy watched every episode (and special) of the show over a year and chronicled the experience. Even produced some charts and graphs to display his ratings. In particular, all MSTies should read his Closing Thoughts on the series as a whole and how well it has (and will) hold up over time. He also has a collection of all the title cards from the MST episodes.
