It stinks!

Love the sharper-looking font, but hate the fact that the comment entries aren’t numbered anymore.
Oh…and, what happened to the episode guides?

Oops!….never mind! The episode guides are working now!

Looks cool, but i agree about the comments sections changes.
1. Having comment numbers makes it easier to reply to specific comments in a long thread. Bring back the comment #s!
2. I liked the old version where all the comments were in one long list instead of broken into pages – easier to scroll thru. Is there a possibility of adding a “view all” button to comments?

Yes, please recover the numbers for the comments, and the single-page layout for threads with a lot of comments. The new layout looks sharp, but it shouldn’t lose information that the old made easily available.

Some of us MSTies are by now quite old. The new font size is miserably small and doing the ctrl-+ works but when I do that, the whole site looks like cr@p .

I have a feeling the multi-page thing is here to stay. That’s how most forums deal with growth. Takes a load off of their server, which they are paying good money for, I’m sure.

Either that or they’re just delighted by our suffering.

Or, more likely, that’s just the WordPress default and they haven’t done any tweaking, yet.

One word: Plastic!

Must be tweaking as we type, I see all the comments are numbered.
Either that or you’re all crazy. Could go either way.

I’ve installed a new plugin, and it works. We’ve got Number Sign!
Castle Monster is right that comment paging is built into the newer versions of WordPress. I’ve found how to turn it off and comments should now be appearing on the same page.
Thanks for all the comments so far. Keep ’em coming!

I like the small font. But then, I always set my screen size to the maximum resolution while keeping the small fonts setting, and all of my colleagues believe I’ll be blind by 40 :???:

I like it.

I HATE MST3KINFO.COM’S NEW LOOK
(someone had to do it.)

(cue the wormy guy’s voice): I DON’T LIKE IT…
Seriously, I’m not crazy about it, but it’s not like I have the wherewithal to do anything other than make the one comment. I will adapt, grow, and possibly flourish in this new environment. Actually, I think I feel a bit more interfaced. My nuts.

Okay, why has no-one said it yet?
C’mon, all together now:
We like it VERY MUCH.
I really like the way it sizes to my screen. I have a wide screen, and most pages use less that 1/2 of it.

The Master would approve of the return of the numbers.

The font is lousy and it doesn’t have the symmetrical feel of the old style. Notice when the comments get into the double digits those are shifted to the right.
Who would’ve though that a website could look drunk?

You are right about the comments getting shifted, that looks weird. It’s almost like Rick Sloane had his way with this place. Is there a way to fix that, or is it just the way it works now?

Tor afraid of change!

Well, good. I’m glad all the comments are on one page. Some blogs will actually forward you to the last comment page when you click on the permanent link. I hate that.

Nobody has said what the main problem of this setup is?
It’s too WHITE! I feel like I am looking at heaven, but instead of angels, it’s filled with nerds like me ;-) (no offense)

Is it possible now to edit posts? If so, how?

Rockin! Numbers and long threads again! Thanks, I Like It Very Much!
*Random question … is there are way to view a linked list of all the weekend discussion threads?

It will do I spose. I have seen worse but we will just have to live with progress I guess.

Oh good, people can quote me, now.

The font is just a bit smaller. I’m an old guy (well older than most of you kids) and It’s hard to read.
And I won’t change the monitor settings.

I’ve changed the font. It should be a bit easier to read now.

is there a way you can use the old font, the look of the site was very bold, it looks like leapfrog font. satellite news recomended ages 2-5
just looked more professional before thats all.
why is it highlighted???
“thong,… the fish is ready”

If I could make a suggestion. You could replace the (Quote) with a little icon and put it on an existing line or off to the side so it doesn’t expand the comments so much. Of course, that’s easy for me to say but there ya go.

My post will add nothing…just wanted to quote The Castle Monster…

Interesting. The quote link within a quote dead-ends.

Sorry to come off like a hater, but I’m not digging the new look. I’m not resistant to change, but this is not (yet) an improvement. The old format had a simple elegance that you should try to recreate as much as possible.
Font is OK, but it seems the lines of text are too close together, making the pages look cluttered (The “Feed Your RSS” block on the right is particularly hard to read). Hopefully with a little more tweaking you can fix this. Also, I don’t get the underlined “time of post” link — what’s the point of this? The “(Quote)” link also seems unnecessary — I think we all know how to cut and paste.

Can someone more well versed than I in the mysteries of fonts and monitors tell me why the letter w looks so funny in this new set-up? Look at the “this date in MSTory” , which has a lot of “who”s. The w’s are like a weird trail of blotches up and down the page, they don’t have the same ‘weight’ as the other letters. Am I off my medication again or is there soemthing undual in the design of the w ?

Depending on OS platform and browser, results may vary. So some testing is required, as is getting feedback from users.
In post #36 I wrote “Font is OK”, but I take that back. The characters are too wide.
Medium/petite @39 is not crazy (though I’m not seeing “blotches”) – the “w” is too close to the “h” in “who” – or the “o” is too far from “h”. This is called “kerning” in typography. Nearly impossible to adjust in HTML, but another (narrower) font might read better. Sorry to be a bitch, put please keep tweaking!
