How can it piss people off when it’s a fairly accurate description?

I don’t care what name they put on it, this has to be awesome! The movie is a laugh riot anyway – definite buy for me!

Yes! It’s about time they attack another B-Movie besides Star Wars: Episode I.

Does it piss you off when the CT crew says they’re the “masters of movie riffing?”

  8. Joey Joe Joe says:

Although I do find it funny that Rifftrax started out by repeatedly saying that they’re not MST3K 2.0. Yet now they seem to be fully embracing that concept.

Is this going to be available as a DVD? Is it a PD movie? Or could they not get the rights to this…masterpiece? Is it a download only?

  11. crowschmo says:

By download only, I meant the riffing, of course.

I would imagine this is a down load only – astoundingly I saw a special edition of D-Wars (yes – someone decided to give it a “hip” short name) in Best Buy a while back so someone is jealously guarding the rights.

  13. Colossus Prime says:

That “hip” short name is actually in the openning title sequence which only adds to the massively incompitent brilliance of the movie.

When I saw this film, I actually laughed out loud when the US gov’t guy said “we know all about the *insert wacky Korean name* prophecy”. Like our gov’t has ever been that competent.

I watched Dragon Wars (unriffed) yesterday and . . . I liked it. I FULLY expected not to since I own a DVD of the director’s previous work, “Reptilian” and THAT is one hell of a stinker. But, seriously, though it has some flaws of course, I really think it looks good and has a comprehensible plot. I was surprised too, but really, I was into it.

Oh man, can we get Reptilian on Rifftrax! That’d be fantastic!

Finally! I can watch Dragon Wars without getting pissed off. I saw in the theatre because I L-O-V-E monster movies, and HATED it. I might actually download my first RiffTrax now.

Dragon Wars is an awesome cheeseball of a movie. It should make for great riffing.

Here is a very funny and in-depth rundown of D-War: http://www.foywonder.com/current_columns/foy_1007.html

 Dragon Wars and other iffy movies that need “Mysti-Fied” are available for instant stream via Netflix. I have the flu and am currently watching old MST3K with my X360… Demon Dogs are covering Joels ship. Good times, besides my chills, vomiting, and such. Anyway, Netflix Instant has finally redeemed itself…

  20. Mike and Joey Joe Joe: We’ve always included something about mst3k on the site. The homepage has said “From the stars of..” for at least the last 2 years, that I can recall. But it’s not mst3k 2.0 in the sense that the tone is somewhat different and it doesn’t contain puppets. YMMV.

Mike.. there always has to be one kid to pee in the public pool…

Both CT and Rifftrax have the right to say they’re derived from MST3K. Both groups worked on it, both groups can denote their affiliation. I could personally care less if CT put “J. Elvis: the original voice of Tom Servo” in their ads.

If you’re so concerned about titles, here’s something to infuriate you: Mary Jo was once listed as “the voice of magic voice” in a CT article I read. How dare she not give credit to Mike’s wife and the times she lent her voice to the show!

Now go start a flame war somewhere (just not here)…

Such a wonderfully dopey movie. Flashbacks inside of flashbacks! Ham-fisted exposition! Robert Forrester!
