Awhile ago you had a thread on what Msties find funny. Along that same line, I’d like to know what Msties do for a living. Are we computer-hacking photophobiacs who live in our parents’ basement, or are we other societal cornerstones like firefighters, police officers, professors, or clergy? What do we DO?
Interesting! Okay, don’t give out more info than you are comfortable with. And you don’t need to say WHERE you do it or give specific company names or anything.
Me: I’m an editor at a newspaper. Yes, they still exist. You?
I love lamp.

When I saw my first episode of MST3k (Fugitive Alien), I was a college freshman trying to figure out how to do movie special effects.
Now? I’m a senior visual FX artist at Weta Digital in Wellington, New Zealand.

Bolem @221: My boyfriend has a cat that loves everybody, including me, until everyone else leaves the room. The thing will attack me for no reason and my boyfriend thinks that I’m doing something to provoke it. Apparently I’m filled with catnip.

I am a venture capitalist currently involved with a technology company. I am helping them commercialize formally “top secret” or “black project” revolutionary technology originally developed for the DOD and DOE. Taken to the extreme – Clayton or Pearl Forrester could rule the world with this technology – I’m not kidding – It’s already beginning to be deployed in devices.

Currently works in a warehouse. Did have two jobs in the photograpic field in the 1990’s. One in a photolab the other as a wedding photographer’s assistant. Both jobs went belly up in the early 2000’s  Does “dabble” with video from time to time

Re:#221 and cats
When a cat is scared it doesn’t want anything near it and will attack anything that is. A traumatized cat who is friendly will sometimes get overstimulated ar startled or just set off by some purely internal trigger and get scared in an instant for no obvious reason. If the cat is on your lap being petted the motion of your arm will scare it further often causing the cat to lash out or run off terrrified. Don’t take it personally.
Some cats just get overstimulated easily. Any pleasurable sentation can become painfull if it becomes too intense. Think of being tickled excessively. Some cats who get overstimulated easily will lash out suddenly when being petted goes from being fun to unpleasant. This is something you can watch out for more easily.
