RIP Jan Shepard

Burbank, CALIF. — Jan Shepard, who guest-starred on TV Westerns “Rawhide,” “The Virginian,” “Gunsmoke” and two dozen other shows and played opposite Elvis Presley in movies eight years apart, died in a hospital here Jan. 17.

MSTies will recall her performance as Nan Greyson in the movie in episode 406- ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES.

  2. I knew Jan very well. Her son Brandon and I met at a basketball camp at UCSB in 1972, and became good friends. I used to spend the weekend at their house in North Hollywood. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. And she told me once that when she was filming the movies with Elvis, he was constantly asking her out, but she kept reminding him that she was married.
