I remember seeing that cartoon on TV back in the early 80s. Very strange.

Holy Primus above, the only way Rifftrax could’ve made my Christmas merrier is by tackling Candy Claus! Someday…

Not that it was part of my childhood, but I used to frequent a video store with a tape that included this and 3 other holiday specials, ‘Smells like Nelvana’ — I mean, “Nelvanamation” Volume 1.

-Intergalactic Thanksgiving or Please Don’t Eat the Planet

-The Devil and Daniel Mouse (A Halloween special which some fans believe ‘Rock and Rule’ is a sequel to)

-Romie-0 & Julie-8: Runaway Robots (Valentines Day special. In hindsight, this one sticks out as the most confounding in terms of how it ever got made, and yet the most accurate at predicting the future. Not only do the villainous Sparepartski’s intentions kind of imply the title pair were designed to be sex robots, but it has the most extreme fat-shaming I’ve ever seen, anywhere.)

Oh please Rifftrax, do all three in the coming year and make 2025 worth surviving!

A Cosmic Christmas also had a corresponding storybook with extra info that apparently didn’t make the cartoon cut, like how the one Space Magus whose eyes look like goggles can use them to take pictures like a camera. Also had several pages devoted to song lyrics and piano sheet music, like the Teddy Ruxpin Christmas storybook! If only every weird-ass animated holiday special had the chutzpah to assume its songs would become standards.
