“Something a bit different.” – Golden Corral’s new slogan!

I noticed in the promo that they did NOT visit the loneliest person working at Golden Corral. The salad bar tender. Too bad. She knows all the dirty little secrets there. Oh, wait. Maybe that’s why they didn’t visit her.

I’m embarrassed for them, maybe time to wrap things up, guys.

I got this one as a Kickstarter reward, but haven’t watched it yet. And, while I’ve never eaten at one, there’s no way Golden Corral could be as bad as they say it is.

Greater love hath no man than he who would eat at Golden Corral for the happiness of others.

Funny…..I kind of thought the same thing when I first saw this……and even MORE so when I actually paid to see it!
But then, a funny thing happened…….I REALLY enjoyed it !! Probably because we never get to see our ‘heroes’ just out and about doing something so goofy and “normal”.
End Result: I liked it, and hope they do something like it again (How about a shopping trip somewhere with Bridget and Mary Jo, too ??) !!

How about a shopping trip somewhere with Bridget and Mary Jo, too ??
That reminds me of the event that took place at the second convention where a group of lucky winners got to “shop ahoy” with Bridget and Mary Jo at Mall of America. I wish I would have won that prize!

Based on the number listed on the outside, they filmed this at the Maple Grove, MN location.

I remember that one, and how many entries Donna Milay submitted for the drawing.

I knew it looked familiar as I do a lot of my shopping in Maple Grove. I have eaten a couple of times at that Golden Corral and have lived to tell about it.

“Lived to tell about it.” That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement or a high bar to clear. I think we can all name something we’ve ate which made us quite sick but we still lived to comment on it in this very forum years later. So if the aspiration is only to be avoid being so bad it results in just avoiding the death of a customer, then the business plan needs to be reevaluated.
I’m a lover of buffets. However I think their assessment of Golden Corral is right on. I don’t go very often and at this point its been years since my last foray. That said what I saw in this special jibes pretty well with my memory right down to the spill on the floor where the store puts down the “wet floor” warning but doesn’t actually clean the mess. Frankly sometimes a brutal review is deserved.
