To Sampo: #135 Droppo gave me an idea for a possible future weekend discussion thread…our season-by-season report card, judging each with a grade and the specific episodes that made us give said grades.
I know some explanations would be long, but remember “The Taxonomy of Riffs” thread? Jesus Christ, some of those were like reading “War and Peace” (or the completely unedited version of “The Stand” that Frank gives Forrester to read!)

“Warrior of the Lost World is just ridiculously funny…..I’d argue that the first 15 minutes of the movie are up there with the funniest stretches of any MST3K episode ever.”
Totally agree. Always thought this was one of the best (and most overlooked) episodes.

Glad you agree, Boggy.
Spoiler for those who haven’t seen Warrior:
I also love when Joel and the bots finally snap at the motorcycle and all scream “shut up!!!”
I think it’s after the motorcycle says “tuuuubular” and it is so richly deserved.
Toblerone:
It’s funny…I was thinking the same thing and almost listed episodes as evidence to support my grades…but, I realized it would be a bit far too off-topic.
Needless to say, as anyone who has read my posts knows, Master Ninja I and II would be Exhibits A and B for my love for Season 3.
But, again, what’s so cool about the new SF set is that, along with Mitchell and Eegah!, Warrior and Santa would be my tops for Season 5.
This is, by far, the most psyched I’ve been for a MST3K official DVD release.

December 1st, December 1st, December 1st… the date is now etched into my mind. (Now I just have to remember not to preorder it twice like I did with vol. 15  )

#142: Bah. If Sandy Frank controls their release, they won’t be released any time soon.
Ah well, just a thought.

I’m a little late commenting, but I just have to say yes, Yes YES!!!!!!!!
Warrior is one of my top 3 episodes, Santa Claus is one I watch every Christmas, and Blood Beast is just on time as I’m sort of falling in love with it.
Thanks SHOUT!!!!!

I still wish they’d include the unmystied movies because many are entertaining all by themselves. I am glad they are finally releasing Santa Claus, which is one of my all time favorites.

“Had Claude Monet directed this film”
I’m glad Warrior of the Lost World is finally being included so everyone can see it. Joel’s “This is weird.” comment near the end always cracks me up.

Great set!! I can’t wait!!!!
My request for the next set is either “Final Sacrifice” or “Squirm” …. either of those will make me a happy cow.

I’m sold. I don’t understand comment#51, every thing since Rhino volume 1 has had FOUR episodes/discs, except “The Essentials” and the Killer Shrews replacement disc and Giant Gila Monster were unusual exceptions.

Im just happy to see that the “Turkey Day” host segments will be included! Anybody out there that has the Amazing Colossal Episode Guide mentions in the season 7 section of the book that it disappeared. “Never to be seen or heard from again, ever.”

Seems like everyone is getting different numbers for total episodes released.
By my count there’s 70 episodes released on dvd + 1 on VHS but never dvd(Amazing colossal Man), for 71 total, so this set will make it 75 total(76 if you count 701 as 2).
Plus the Movie.
40 Mike w/ turkey day 701 as 2 + the Movie.
37 Joel w/Amazing Colossal Man on VHS.
38 Mike if you count turkey day as just 1 episode and don’t include the Movie.
It’s pretty even, with alot of Joel episodes, all things considered. Like KTMA being off limits. All the Sandy Frank episodes being off limits. And season 1 episodes being ignored till recently.
They could have used those reasonings as an excuse to have far fewer Joel eps.

@Matty-O: I did the same thing!!!
Amazon should have warned us!!

Dont expect Final Sacrifice since the owner has no interest of it being on a MST DVD Volume
B Ward at SF’s forums said Night of the Blood Beast will have both versions of the movie, the turkey day segments and the 701 segments
