Huzzah! It just isn’t MST3K without the COR-man in there somewhere.

Ah, frequently considered among Corman’s best movies, but by no means great. A means to cash in on the Star Wars craze, but he also took a page from The Seven Samurai/The Magnificent Seven movies, even casting Robert Vaughn to semi-reprise his role from The Magnificent Seven. Fun fact, frequent co-collaborators James Cameron (Yes, that James Cameron), Gale Anne Hurd and James Horner all met and got their big break from this movie. Corman also would reuse Horner’s theme for this movie in numerous other movies, including MST’d movies Deathstalker and the Warriors From Hell and Wizards of the Lost Kingdom. Oh yeah, and the screenwriter for this is John Sayles.

The John-Boy riffs just write themselves, don’t they?

Who will be the host of this episode?
For those people here who are interested in reviews of MST3K movies and Rifftrax movies and shorts, go to “Faith’s Take” on Youtube.com.
She’s smart, funny, and clever.

That’s not the poster I fondly remember from childhood.

Like Doctor Mordrid, this was a title that was cheap and OOC-available, but is…actually not too bad.
One of John Sayles’ brief golden stint writing for the Cor-man, which also gave us “Piranha”, “The Howling”, ‘Alligator”, and “The Challenge”, none of them slouches with B-movie fans.
It may LOOK like Starcrash, and just as goofy, but in a smart way.

I watched this all the time on HBO. And I have it on Blu-Ray.

Interesting choice. I’m still hoping they’ll do studio versions of the movies from the live tours, especially “The Fantastic Argoman”.

I’m hoping they riff Warlords of Atlantis.

We didn’t get The Brain or Circus of Horrors at our tour stop, and Making Contact missed us completely.

One of the very few MST’d movies I’ve seen before!
