Trivia from IMDb.
“The opening credits contains clips from original film “RoboCop” such as: Murphy is rushed into the operating room, Robocop busts down the front door to the cocaine factory, and (before RoboCop first comes on-line in front of the OCP executives) the static across his system’s readout screen. The series takes place 4-5 years after the original RoboCop film. It ignores the two sequels. The production company was not aware the RoboCop writing duo had the right of first refusal to write a RoboCop television pilot. When they read about the announced series, they contacted the producers and they had a meeting of minds. The series filmed in Canada for around $1.25 million per episode. The series was canceled after one season due to low viewership and generally bad reviews.”

From the Psychotronic Video Guide: “This expensive syndicated series pilot stars Richard Eden as Robocop and Yvette Nipar as his partner, Lisa. Cliff De Young is the recurring villain, Dr. Malardo, a scientist working for Omni Consumer Products. Andrea Roth and David Garber are also featured. The short-lived series returned to the fun TV commercials from the first movie, but was pretty toned down compared to any of the movies and had more cartoonish characters and laughs than action or violence.”
