Perhaps the worst case of cultural appropriation since Charley Chan. Of course, I am leaving out Eddie Murphy in his “White Like Me” skit.

Another retread
Another “why would they subject themselves to this AGAIN?”

The MST3K episode of this movie is so dull and painful that I don’t even bother trying to watch it anymore. So I was hesitant to give the RiffTrax version a try. I’m glad I did. For one thing, they found a much better print. The print used on MST3K was so dark and muddy that it made an already drab movie look murky. Also, this version has less cuts, making the convoluted plot somewhat easier to follow. Most importantly, the riffs are better, IMHO.

BTW, the guy who plays Nayland Smith looks like a cross between Pernell Roberts and Rex Harrison.

AAAAHHHH!
The guy who plays Nayland Smith was Richard Greene, the most Robin-Hoody Robin Hood ever to swash a buckle. You have just offended the remnants of an entire generation of old guys who sat slackjawed watching Richard Greene live out their fantasies of shooting arrows into King John’s men for five seasons on TV. “Feared by the bad/loved by the good….”

Not while there’s a print of Breakfast at Tiffany’s still surviving out in God’s green world….
