Janet Varney and Cole Stratton’s last RiffTrax was their terrific riff of “Dirty Dancing.” As I said on the RiffTrax forum at the time, “it was genuinely and consistently funny, but what I really liked about it was they did not try to be Mike-Kevin-Bill. They courageously established their own riffing style, committed to the bits and established their own riffing personas. Bravo!” I’ve been looking forward to this one.
With only one riff before this, they’re one of my favorite team of riffers. Just fantastic stuff.

Janet sounds just a little too artificially snarky for my taste, and they could’ve come up with something along the lines of, “Woah, where’s his brain?” when the guy pushing the gurney passes through Patrick.
Otherwise, pretty good.

I’m wondering if Janet and Cole’s third Rifftrax effort will be another Patrick Swayze film…

Perhaps The Outsiders?

I guess with “Red Dawn” and now “Ghost”, is Rifftrax getting all the Patrick Swayze flicks out of the way before he completes the trifecta alongside Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson???

I thought McMahon finished the last trifecta that included David Carradine? Does Jackson start a new one then?

If these celebrities would just count off before they kick it, it’d be easier for everyone!

Musical nitpick: Shouldn’t it be “messy wet clay and brothers Righteous” in the Rifftrax description?

Sorry, Billy Mays already completed the most recent trifecta. (If you can call a glorified pitchman a celebrity!) But Swayze is on his way to starting a new one.
