It’s the final Clu Gulager alert.
Clu Gulager, the character actor with more than 150 credits in a six-decade career, has died. He was 93.
Among those credits were memorable turns in 1964’s “The Killers” and Peter Bogdanovich’s “The Last Picture Show” in 1971.
MSTies will recall his role as Mr. Christensen in the movie in episode 322- MASTER NINJA I and Bob Hatten in the movie in episode 614- SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL.
I was not aware that he was Cherokee. RIP
This Hollywood Reporter article lists his death date as yesterday

RIP Clu “I’m not Gallagher” Gulager
Clu Gulager also got his throat ripped out by a mutant cat in ‘Uninvited’
It’s so ironic that I watched SF International Friday night and I remember commenting to my wife that ol’ Clu was still around. RIP Mr. Gulager.
Say what you will about “San Francisco International”, but his character really made it watchable.
Oh, no, I didn’t realize Mr Gulager had died as well, in this week of far too many deaths. As much as I enjoyed him in SF International, his best role, IMO, was in Uninvited. There’s nothing like watching him break a bottle and prepare to take on a mutated killer cat; it was lovely.
*turns off the Clu Gulager alert*
RIP Mr. Gulager
And now the watch has ended.
I had a bit of a crush on him back in the ’70s and don’t care who knows it.
RIP, Mr. Gulager.
He did his job his way.
I will: it’s my all-time favorite episode. I know it hardly rates with most fans, but boy, I love this episode, and I actually get caught up in the film itself. Gulager definitely makes it so watchable, but I also love Pernell Roberts and his smugness, Van Johnson even more smugness, and despite the ribbing he gets, David Hartman is absolutely delightful (I grew up with early 80s Good Morning America, and I’ve seen The New Doctors and Lucas Tanner, all of which I enjoy). While ridiculous, the whole plot involving smuggling the stolen money grabs me, and the subplot with Dana Elcar and Cliff Potts “American vs Hippie” is short but sweet. Of course, the highlight is Davey getting himself in the most ridiculous of predicaments, with the episode ending on what has to be the most hilarious riff of “Davey hijacking the airliner”. It’s one I can rewatch infinitely and never not laugh. In fact, all the TV pilot/movie/episodes-hastily-strung-together experiments are my jam, and I always wish they were featured more at the Gizmoplex or Turkey Day Marathons to broaden their exposure and hopefully their appeal.
RIP Clu Gulager. Your career spanned decades, but your impact will last forever!
