Ro-Man also makes the list, which is pretty cool :)

Back years ago, when TechTV wasn’t “G4”, Kevin (digg) Rose and his co-host did a list of robots, with Crow and Tom as #’s 1 & 2.
Don’t know if I still have the mpg files of that episode.

Outrageous! A brain the size of the planet and Marvin’s only at 18! Oh, why bother?
Bender’s comment at not winning:
“You can bite my shinny metal ass!”

Oops! Spelling corrections.

Btw, was Woody Allen’s (granted WA robot impersonator) robot butler on the list?

Bah! Not a single Dalek on their silly list? No K9?!? Both appeared in at least a TV movie, and the Daleks squared off against Peter Cushing in theatres! No, no I’m sorry, it just won’t do. If you’re talking about science fiction you cannot ignore Dr. Who. It’s like writing a master’s thesis on the history of Europe and leaving out Spain. (“Who’s Armada was England fighting again?” “Oh, you know. Some guys.”) And yes, the second two movies were bad, but still the Matrix sentinels didn’t make it in?
AND NO TWIKKI!?!

Excellent point about K9 and the daleks. If you get some of the British dvds of the original series, they have some interesting tracks od commentary and info. On one a dirctor notes his relief when the daleks flaring ribbons (to indicate firing) were replaced with real SE. Elizabeth Sladen (a.k.a. Sarah jane Smith) seems to enjoy commenting/reminiscing about her work in the late ’70s.

Aren’t Daleks technically biological? They’re little aliens in killer vehicles.

Depends on which version of Daleks we’re talking about. Some are fully robotic… though the ones in the theatre release movies were definitely little green guys. Maybe that disqualifies them.

And talking about Dr. Who, what about the cybermen?

Now we just need to get them in the Robot Hall of Fame at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh!
