RIP James Olson MALIBU Calif. — Prolific actor James Olson, who had a long list of performances on stage and screen, died peacefully at his home here on April 17. He was 91.

He had one of those faces that just said “Yes, it’s me” no matter what he was in. He was vivid in ANDROMEDA STRAIN. RIP

I’m sorry to hear that. He was never a remarkable actor, IMO, but a solid one, who made you believe he was whoever he was playing – which is the point of acting.

The in-over-his-head Father in Ragtime; the murderous Tom Arlen in Irwin Allen’s last awful disaster movie, Cave In! Olsen was terrific.
