Not a bad interview, but if you are the kind of person who is looking at Satellite News you probably aren’t going to hear anything you don’t already know.
He states that the problem with doing Titanic is that it is so long, but they did both The Fellowship of The Ring and The Two Towers, and those are nearly as long, and in my opinion have FAR less riffable material (which is also why I don’t think those two Rifftrax are very good). If they can do two 2.5 hours good films like those then whats the problem doing one 3 hour turd like Titanic? It is chocked full of prime riffing material, so I really don’t think it would be very hard. And if they want to they could easily charge $4.99 for it to make up for the extra time working on it, and the bandwidth for the slightly larger file sizes. I’d gladly pay an extra buck to see that overrated piece of crap get riffed.

Speaking of lampooning “Titanic”, I remember nearly a decade ago hearing of Leslie Nielson in pre-production on “Titanic 2: They Missed The Iceberg!”, but then nothing else after that. Think James Cameron wasn’t a good sport and somehow quashed the project? If so, think he might also be threatening to give the RT gang some kind of unspoken legal problem if they tackle his masterpiece?
Or is that too far-fetched a conspiracy? I am convinced that Ken Lay is still alive and in hiding, after all.

i like the way Kevin thinks about doing good movies. A roast. Good way of putting it.

I agree with Uncle Bill… Titanic is one of the worst things ever put to film. I also agree if they can tear into two very good movies from the LOtR trilogy (both of which they admit to loving), then Titanic is cake. It would be their biggest seller, no question…
Oh, and the interview was standard. Worth the read, but nothing new brought to light.
