Yep, and I’m registered for the Gizmoplex, and I have reminders to get me on the system by 5pm Pacific.
Which I will probably forget because I’m terrible at this.
MOVIE SIGN!!!

Not to give anything away, but I thought the premiere went OK. There were a few technical issues, but they resulted in a new favorite MST character: WHITE DOT!

All hail White Dot!

I love the new non-host specific theme song. Perfect for whoever is with the Bots that episode, be it Jonah, Emily or the OG himself, Joel.

Also All Hail Perico, the Mexican Cornjob!

He’s the Latino combination of early Jerry Lewis and Droppo.

Good job last night! It was a lot of fun–IMHO more fun than the Netflix seasons. It felt more like classic MST3K. I also loved all the behind-the-scenes stuff. And, yes, Perico … ! He has “recurring visitor to the SOL” (like Torgo and Ortega) written all over him.

The tune they use for the song honoring Perico in the final host segment is annoyingly familiar, but I can’t quite place it. Anyone?

Perhaps, though I still maintain that he bears a startling resemblance to Omura-san.

There was a touch of “YMCA” in there.

there are some sound issues
the riffing is too loud compared to the movie sound- the movie dialogue is way too quiet to understand
It makes it hard to enjoy

Yes! Aaargh. I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ve never found a riff so badly mixed with the movie.
I finally gave up, hoping they’ll fix the mix before I try to watch it again.

Is the SOL bridge really just the desk and a green screen?

Based on the photos from the Kickstarter updates: Yes.
But if we are lucky, maybe Joel and Emily will therefore have different backgrounds?

That’s unfortunate. I saw a fan’s picture of the new episode on Twitter during the premiere and I couldn’t believe it.

Pardon my ignorance, if I didn’t participate in the kickstarter how can I view Season 13 episodes?

I think you have to wait until May.

I absolutely love that MST is back, again, again, again.
Some things I did not like were
1. The aforementioned mix between the movie and Jonah & the Bots.
2. I HATED the flat print-outs of the opening doors. I wanna see all kinds of miscellaneous sci fi parts and bot debris hot-glued to doors and walls in glorious 3D! Is that too much to ask?
3. Too much green screen. Hopefully that will decrease.
Things I loved
1. The interactions between Pearl? Synthia prime? and Synthia are magical!
2. Great movie & riffing and even better when it is re-mixed and we can hear it all. What an insanely stupid script for a movie:)
3. The Gizmoplex tour- The Gizmoplex looks amazing!

Oops, another one-
I was hoping for a different theme for each host. But they did bring back the guitar chord strum at the end, so that was PRETTY NICE!

Good to know, thanks.

Sampo> Is there a plan for reviewing episodes for this sites episode guide? Will you be doing so in the near future or waiting until the “full launch” of the Gizmoplex?

I enjoyed the accidental Matt Fraction namedrop.

Pretty good variation of the theme song.

I expect most folks here are reading the Kickstarter updates, but FYI the March 12 update mentions the audio issues and tells you how to fill out a survey describing them (since apparently not all viewers are having this problem — I did and apparently several other posters in the comments here did).

Thank you! I missed that announcement buried in the KS update. Survey now completed!
I found the audio awful; we watched the premiere on a PC via web browser… until I gave up with a headache from the sound.
