  1. My hatred for this movie is boundless and eternal.
The guy who directed Forbidden Zone directed THIS?
The guy who who wrote and directed Freeway wrote THIS?
MEG FOSTER WAS DEFILED AND DISRESPECTED TO SERVE WHAT PURPOSE IN THIS?

I hope they not only savagely riff this piece of whale poop but insult the mothers of all concerned.

  2. Sitting Duck says:

Don Michael Paul (Marion Drake) was Robbie in Alien from L.A. Executive producer and story conceiver Charles Band was producer for Laserblast and executive producer for Robot Holocaust and The Day Time Ended. Composer Richard Band was composer for Being from Another Planet, Laserblast, and The Day Time Ended, as well as composing the stock music used in Robot Holocaust. Visual effects consultant David Allen was animator for Laserblast and The Day Time Ended. Visual effects man Paul Gentry did laser effects and was still photographer for Laserblast and visual effects and sound effects for The Day Time Ended (for which he was also associate producer). Stunt player Gary McLarty did stunts in Mitchell, in which he was also Mistretta Hood 2. Stunt player Alan Oliney did stunts and was a hood in Riding with Death.

Researching MST3K connections for this one was exhausting. Unlike a lot of notorious bad movie makers, the Bands typically hire people with extensive resumes.

    From ew.com:

“With the 1980 cult flick Forbidden Zone to his credit, plus a vanishing reputation as an innovative theater director who helped give his composer brother Danny his start, Richard Elfman returns to filmmaking with Shrunken Heads, the latest in the Full Moon line of live-action comic books. Given that the three lead characters are exactly what the title describes, the script wisely capitalizes on the humor of floating bodiless heroes. Of course, the movie still includes such Full Moon staples as kiddie-level violence and time-padding flashbacks, but Elfman’s fun-loving touches manage to get this new series up and running with twisted enthusiasm. A too-rare example of “super-heroes” in a horror film.

(If the head-boys don’t fit your parameters for super-heroes, that’s okay.)

I watched this last night. Odd little movie, to say the least. Tonally it seemed to be targeting middle schoolers with kind of a low-budget “Ghostbusters/Beetlejuice” vibe and cartoonish violence. Yet it also dropped enough F-bombs for an R-rated flick, and invoked “Papa Doc” Duvalier and his terror squad in a shockingly positive way. And then there’s the truly disturbing scenes of the kid’s undead head going under the girl’s top for visit with “second base”.
