Ack! Seeing Rue McClannahan in this is giving me “Hollywood After Dark” flashbacks!

In a time when babies are born that came from twenty-plus year old frozen embryos this movie loses the element f the ridiculous.

I checked on IMDb, and I’m really surprised that this actually isn’t a Hallmark movie. And it was directed by Bill Bixby?

This one was really painful. A contrived, made-for-TV soap opera plot; dull, uninspired camera work; and a bunch of B-list actors who are supposed to be a family but none of them have even the slightest family resemblance. Plus it’s all centered around Rue McClanahan, who is remarkably unappealing. She’s also one of those TV actors whose very presence is like catching a glimpse of the boom mike or a crew member during a scene.

A rather strange choice for a movie to riff on…….but have to admit I like the ‘feminine touch’ the ladies are utilizing on their choices, which offers a nice counterpoint to the (usually) VERY testosterone-driven films of ‘the boys’ (i.e., Mike, Kevin and Bill) !!
