RIP Sean Connery

BAHAMAS–Actor Sir Sean Connery died here Oct. 31, his family has said. Sir Sean died peacefully in his sleep, his son said, having been “unwell for some time.” The Scottish actor was best known for his portrayal of James Bond, being the first to bring the role to the big screen and appearing in seven of the spy thrillers.
He won an Oscar in 1988 for his role in The Untouchables.

MSTies will recall that Joel and the bots compared to his brother Neil (who is still alive, as far as we know) in a host segment in episode 508- OPERATION DOUBLE 007.

The BBC has an extensive biography.

RIP and condolences to all his family and friends.

The first and the best Bond, and so many other great roles. One of my favorites was probably the title role of “The Man Who Would Be King.” And btw, proof positive that age and how much hair you have (or don’t have) on your head is absolutely no impediment to being super-sexy.

  7. And yeah, I’ll say it, before certain easy-gag bad-movie gigglers try to (fortunately, they haven’t yet)–

Sean was even occasionally good as a villain…No matter what he wore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1c-QSe7uU0

They look more alike there than Neil did in Operation Double 007.

The best Bond, and one of the best accents in movie land. I loved him as Indiana Jones’ father In Last Crusade. He will truly be missed. My condolences to his family.
