A disappointing aspect of the physical media releases for Seasons 11 and 12 is the dearth of features from Ballyhoo Motion Pictures. What Nexflix-era subject matter do you wish could have been given the Ballyhoo treatment and what title would you have given the feature? A suggestion I once heard that I found particularly appealing was one on the career of the star of the two Edgar Rice Burroughs adaptations with the title, “Hi, I’m Doug McClure”.
Have at it!
but there was no extras… the story of Monster a Go Go.

The story of how McDonald’s actually got into making movies (following a few other failed attempts to give Ronald his own cartoon pilots) would be interesting.
And, aren’t you just a little curious of how the Asylum got its start, and what they were doing before “Transmorphers”?
At the Earth’s Core would also be a good excuse for looks back at Peter Cushing, and/or Amicus: the Hammer that Wasn’t.

I wished there had been an extra about Frozen’s Robert Lopez writing Our Love is on Wings. I would have called it “Robert Lopez: From EGOT to Eegah.”

I have another idea for a Mac & Me feature, maybe just on the alien characters and how they’re made… called, “E.T. Phone Lawyers”

I guess I thought this was a serious question but it looks like it’s one of those WDTs where people make up jokes?

I’m not even sure what the question is. Am I that out of the loop?

Without making up any jokes I will propose this idea for a bonus feature –
How about a step by step explanation on the several topics that have puzzled some MSTies in Seasons 11 and 12 such as…
What’s in Gypsy’s basket that she beings into the theater?
What’s the deal with Kingachrome? How does it work and don’t tell me about science facts!
How did Clayton F. convince Kim Cattrall to… you know.

A ‘Cry Wilderness’ making of documentary would be nice. There must be so many behind the scene stories about that weird movie.

A segment on the Edgar Rice Borroughs movies sounds like a good idea. They could also have tried one on Amicus Productions, the makers of those movies and Hammer Films’ main competition in the British horror market in the 60s.
The original Ator movie would’ve provided an opening for an interview with Mikes O’Keefe (or have they already done that?).
And “Yongary” and/or “Reptilicus” could’ve led to comments from film historians on kaiju movies that weren’t from either Toho or Daiei.
Still, maybe Shout might do a Special Edition re-release of the sets someday.

An interview with anyone involved in Mac and Me would be amazing. Also, I would love a feature about Charles Band, the genius behind movies like Laserblast and The Day Time Ended.

I’d like to know more about The Day Time Ended. Was the movie just pieces leftover from other projects?

“Hot Messes: The Making of Wizards of the Lost Kingdom I & II”: Pt. 1: Hey, Watcha Drinkin’, David? Carradine on His Iconic Role as The Dark One. Pt. 2: Hey, What Gives? I Saw That in Deathstalker & the Warriors from Hell! Pt. 3: Well, if You Squint Hard–Mapping the Minute Traces of a Connection That Warrants Giving Two Bad Movies the Same Title. Bonus Feature: Some Scenery to Chew on: The Career of Thom Christopher.

While I did come up with a jokey title, I would legit like to see a short interview on an Oscar winner’s experiences working on MST3K.

Another they might have done was interviews with the guest stars and their views on MST3K.
They could also have done a “making of” feature on the live tours, but I’m hoping that’ll be included in a box set of all of the live shows from all three tours.

I enjoy the interviews with actors, so I would recommend at least four:
Thom Christopher – he gave such a great interview on the Deathstalker DVD, so I would love to hear him talk about Wizards. He always gives his all on a movie, no matter how schlocky the material, and he seems like a fun guy.
Priscilla Barnes from Lords of the Deep – between that and Three’s Company, she must have some great stories.
Anyone from Atlantic Rim, just to hear what the heck they think they were doing.
And I second the suggestion of Miles O’Keefe, if for no other reason than to hear his real voice.

I’d like to see an interview with any of the Future War crew who thought it would be funny if their little movie ended up on MST3K, which it ultimately did. I don’t remember seeing any documentary about Coleman Francis, that might be interesting. I know Joe Don Baker’s not going to participate, but a look at his acting career would be informative, some things in his resume aren’t bad (Goldeneye, for one). I second an interview with Miles O’Keefe, and Lisa Foster for that matter.

A nice ‘Doug McClure’ extra would be his hilariously awful singing debut (“Leaving the Straight Life Behind”) on the Johnny Cash Show. Check it out on You Tube…

I would like to see a short feature on the fad of disaster movies in the ’70s, with special attention to the B movies or made-for-TV ones like “Avalanche.” While one always needs some tension or conflict for a good story, what WAS the obsession with over-the-top natural disasters during this time?

Season 11 should have at least included the documentary that Ballyhoo did about the making of The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t.

The usual – MONEY. If one disaster movie makes a pile, the other moviemakers have to follow the leader.

Actually, I was watching Starcrash last night and thought she actually was fairly competent – given the script – and she was the main actor carrying the film. She was in a Bond film and it seems like she could have had bigger roles but refused to do movies with nudity. I think it would be interesting to have a documentary about her career and how she succeeded without bowing to pressure and becoming a MeToo-er.
