Alert regular Mark suggests:
I had a HUGE crush on co-writer and star, Vivian Schilling, a.k.a., Natalie McMillan from “Soultaker.” Also, thought Joyce Holden as Claire Erling in “Terror from the Year 5000”, and Katherine Crawford as Dr. Abby Lawrence from “Riding With Death” were both MAJOR babes!
Oh you know my answer: BATWOMAN! Who’s your pick?
Obligatory mentions of Mamie Van Doren and Ann-Margret. Both of whom are still with us, BTW!
Ana in The Day Time Ended (1204) –
Played by Dorothy Malone, Ana maintains a quiet dignity rarely found in our MSTed movie characters. I like that in her. In spite of the tendencies of her generation to smoke and drink and tan excessively Ana is lovely when she smiles. Wise words say that a young girl can be pretty, but it takes time to make a woman beautiful.
It’s true that this thread has the potential to become vulgar, but so far we seem to be staying out of “too much information” territory, and sticking either to name mentions or appealing personality qualities/mannerisms. After all, being pretty means merely being nice to look at. Being attractive means being someone you’d like to get close to. I’ve met plenty of mean pretty women who were nice to look at but I didn’t want to get near, let alone close to.
Not exactly for her role in “The Leech Woman,” but I adore Gloria Talbott, AKA Sally, AKA June’s final victim. She also starred in “I Married a Monster from Outer Space.”
And Mara Corday of “The Black Scorpion”!! Also starred in “Tarantula” and “The Giant Claw.”
Cisse Cameron from Space Mutiny. Maybe not just for Space Mutiny, but I remember her well from Porky’s 2. As many have mentioned, here, Allison Hayes. She’s a good actress who is very easy on the eyes. Caroline Munro, as well.
Someone who I haven’t seen listed here, is Jany Clair, Queen Samara from Hercules Against the Moon Men, is quite the looker. Patsy Parsons as Queen Cleolanta from the Rocky Jones movies, too. Sylvia Lopez, Queen Omphale from Hercules Unchained, too. There seems to be a theme there. I guess I like strong women…
What was with Dr. “Beefcake” Forrester at the beginning of San Francisco International?
Gloria Talbott was wonderful in “We’re No Angels” with Humphrey Bogart, Peter Ustinov, and Aldo Ray. It’s standard viewing fare for us every Christmas.
One thing that this WDT makes clear is that a lot of talented, attractive people have appeared in an MST3K episode. I would argue that the only person whose role rendered her completely unattractive is Betty Luster, Mr. B Natural him/herself: this is a pretty woman whose talents are obvious, but I can never get past her grating voice and irritating behavior and the generally weird nature of the whole enterprise.
She was also ‘strong’ (literally, and figuratively!) as “Vida” in 1959’s Girls Town, with Mamie….
But now a question I’ve wondered about for a LONG time……anybody else ever confuse Gloria Talbott with the actress that played “Beaver’s” teacher, “Miss Landers”, in Leave It To Beaver, who’s name was Sue Randall (and, sadly, who died before reaching 50, thanks to lung cancer) ?? Can’t tell you how many years (decades?) I went, assuming they were both the same woman. I have a feeling I’m pretty much alone on that one since, looking at them now, I can’t imagine how I ever confused the two, but still….
She only had a small part in Teenage Cave Man and Viking Women and the Sea Serpent (uncredited?) but a related favorite for me is Barboura Morris. She had more notable parts in Corman’s Bucket of Blood and Wasp Woman, my fave Cinematic Titanic riff.
Yes, being longtime MST fan that I am, I also would join the chorus of those that have an attraction to Alison Hayes, Beverly Garland, Mamie Van Doren, Ann-Margret, etc. But there are several others ladies along the way that I think were quite attractive in their roles in MSTed movies.
Being the Bond fan that I am, I must mention Daniela Bianchi from Operation Double 007. Obviously she is best known for being in From Russia With Love, but she is a welcome sight in this 007 cash-in.
The lovely Bobbie Byers in Wild Rebels. Her taste in men was the only really unattractive part about her. Even Rod was a lateral move compared to the biker gang. Kicks, baby.
The lovely Marian Carr in Indestructible Man. Again she went out with Lon Chaney Jr?! And Casey Adams is certainly not an improvement.
The lovely Juli Reding in Tormented. True she did spend most of the movie as a floating head, but before her journey down from the lighthouse, I can certainly understand Tom Stewart’s attraction to Vi.
And finally because I think she got bashed a bit too much in Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living And Became Mixed-Up Zombies, I am going to say that I find Carolyn Brandt quite fetching. Is she a great actress? Nope. But I can certainly understand Ray Dennis Steckler’s attraction to her. Quite lovely.
One I haven’t seen mentioned yet is Eiko Yanami, who played Zigra’s henchwoman in Gamera vs. Zigra.
I’ll participate when they riff a Chris Pratt film ;-)
(Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, have at it.)
I have one other favorite, Marissa Mell from Diabolik and Secret Agent Super Dragon.
Marissa Mell is hot hot hot in Diabolik. I nominate her and Diabolik for MST best couple.
I think I’d probably put Mary Beth Hughes at the top of my list. She’s adorable in “I Accuse My Parents” (If you overlook her character’s involvement with the mob guy.) And she sings beautifully to boot!
A few others who pluck at my heart strings include Vivian Schilling (Soultaker), Dolores Faith (Human Duplicators and Phantom Planet), Joyce Meadows (The Girl In Lover’s Lane), Elinor Donahue (Girl’s Town), Terry Trees (Deathstalker), Barbara Bouchet (Agent For HARM), Adrianna Miles (Werewolf) and Brigid Conley-Walsh aka Brigid Brannagh (Quest of the Delta Knights).
Honorable mention goes to Serene Hedin, the “Lucy Braless” girl in “Boggy Creek II”. Not only was she very attractive, her character thought Tim’s drawing of the Creature looked “hot”, so clearly her standards aren’t going to be too high. ;)
^^ Edit: Terry Treas, not Trees. Stupid autocorrect!
Since I don’t think anyone has mentioned her yet, I’d like to give the Evil Queen from Outlaw a mention. Being what seemed like the only female character in the film who didn’t have Eighties Hair was a big plus.
Also her reading of “Get out of here, you disgusting wurrrrm!” makes a great ringtone.
I do not think Natalie Burke / Adrianna Miles of “Warewoff” has been mentioned which really surprises me.
Nor has anyone mentioned Angelika Jager from Robot Holocaust.
… I vunder vhy not?
73 replies, and no Nastika from Jack Frost mentions?
And I may have missed it, but is no one Shining Their Love?
She’s on my list, a few posts above yours.
Well, we’ve got a few people buffing their love…
Did I miss anyone mentioning Eddie Deezen or Grandma DriedAppleHead?
After catching a bit of Batwoman this morning, I would like to add all of the batgirls to the list. ;)
Oh, yeah, I forgot about her. Definitely belongs in the list. (be sure to check out the uncensored version of Robot Holocaust)
Leslie McRae…the girl in gold boots, from “The Girl In Gold Boots”
I mentioned her earlier- she really is the total package. That is one lucky Critter to be able to Marry her.
Merry Anders and Delores Wells from “The Time Travelers.”
I almost forgot Diane McBain, Rommel’s girlfriend Rita in “The Sidehackers”. Super cute, with a great smile, she was the only bright spot in that lousy movie.
Going over to Rifftrax for a moment, got to nominate The Savings Witch from MAGICAL DISAPPEARING MONEY, and The New Girl from SETTING UP A ROOM.
I don’t think Terry from Teen-Age Crimewave is dirt!
Merry Anders was attractive, but you’re right, Delores Wells was SPECIAL! In fact, to any of those who might not know it, Ms. Wells appeared in the June 1960 issue of Playboy, so-o-o-o-o anybody with, say, some type of “search engine”……..say, a Google, or something like that, along with a place they could use it……..say………oh,I don’t know…..a world wide web, or something like that, one just MIGHT be able to do an image search for Delores Wells to see just a LITTLE bit more of her……uh…….if anyone were actually interested in doing something like that, of course…. ;-)
You’re right…..”New Girl” was attractive, but do remember “The Savings Witch”, um, resonating just a little bit more….
And, for what it’s worth, reminding me just a little bit of actress and SNL alumnus, Christine Ebersole….
