Yep–Called it. Yesterday, AAMoF.
New live tour, and ten bucks says we get an announcement for S13 any minute now.
(And the PD-available Circus of Horrors isn’t too bad, really, in a 60’s mock-Hammer-ish Deadly Bees sort of way, despite its English-fey villain who looks like an evil Conan O’Brien. NRNS, however, is even more 80’s than it sounds.)

Please come to Nashville again! :)

“Join show creator and original host, Joel Hodgson, and the world’s greatest – and only – movie-riffing robots, Tom Servo, Crow, and Gypsy, as they take you on an exhilarating roller coaster ride through some of the cheesiest films ever made.
This is the last chance to see Joel as he celebrates his final live tour performing the unique comedic art form he created.”
Wow, MORE than 55 dates in less than 6 months (website mentions that more dates are coming). Pretty ambitious…
So……this is Joel’s “farewell” tour for live performing ?? Does that somehow leave the door open for him to do occasional live shows in the future (or possibly even taped/filmed versions of the show, were he ever to get the “itch” again) ??
Also, do we know who will be ‘voicing’ Crow, Servo and Gypsy (and any chance that Felicia Day, Jonah Ray and/or Patton Oswalt will be involved in any of these shows?) ??

Wow… looking at the dates that is a weird and hectic looking schedule. Not a criticism, just an observation.
Hmmm… Looks like I’m going to see one show in Milwaukee and then months later hit up Minneapolis.

Again, think after this, we’re going to get the mythical “Deep Hurting Live Tour”, as referenced in Ator, where JHFP&B can stay in character, and Joel (since they don’t need Ardy or can at least stay on film) can keep MST3K active without going on the road. And, of course, providing source for S13.
With Mike and Kevin being less active in RT, and Joel being less active in MST3K, we’ve got to start facing some hard truths as we’re almost coming up on thirty years…That’s probably why some of us are so insistent that movie-riffing NOT be remembered solely for Reefer Madness Live or “Rudolph, I need you tonight”.
And again, think Circus of Horrors was chosen more for the “Circus Tour” theme than for its riffability, as Joel wants to go out with a bang–Remember, every time you see mystery in a grain of sand, and think “I’m alive!”, you’re a part of the Circus of Dr. Hodgson…

(Sorry, Nashville ain’t my kinda town–There ain’t no gold and there ain’t nobody like me.)

Glad they are changing venues in NYC. Playstation Theater in Times Square is crap for watching a movie.

Cool, but I’m disappointed that one of the two movies is a Rifftrax redo.

Right? And of a movie we all thought was average when it came out. I guess 30 years adds cheese?

My prediction: the “Deep Hurting Live Tour” referenced in Season 12 will be Season 13. The six movies are the six movies from the past three years of live shows, with newly filmed host segments for the home viewing experience. After all, they have the movie segments prerecorded–why not double-dip?

No Retreat No Surrender is a pretty good Rifftrax. It’s a great target; so I hope they come up with their own spin.
New topic for some week: Riffs that were so good the first time; the movie should be off-limits to others. My nominees: “Lady Frankenstein” (ICW); “Pod People” (Joel); “Riding with Death” (Mike); “Wonder Women” (Rifftrax); “Alien Factor” (CT).

The tour is a monster! Wow! I am glad however they swapped out Detroit venues. The usual venue in the area is on tighter lockdown than an airport. Also there is a show in West Michigan and in Toledo now… I got options!
Makes me wonder if they ran numbers and realized the tour needs to be so large to recoup or make extra cash to fund s13.

Completely skipped North Dakota again. Uff da! Those forty-two MSTies are starting to feel left out, ya know.

Thirty-seven, now the Svensons moved to Bozeman. Lure of the big city, ya know.

Jean-Claude van Damme? How about some Jean-Claude Gosh Darn? Let’s get some riffing of a Bloodsport sequel starring Daniel Bernhardt!

Columbia but not St. Louis? While we might be a declining Metro area, it’s still in the top 30, you’d think we’d qualify.
Cinematic Titanic used to swing by almost every year.

I’ve been to the Fox a few times in the past couple years & it is as much on lock-down as Royal Oak Music Theater is. In fact, at one show I went to, the line for the metal detectors / security pat down was so slow we missed the first 2 songs by the band we came to see even though we had been in line for nearly half an hour.
I’m frankly baffled that they chose the Fox for this tour. The venue is over FIVE TIMES the size of the ROMT (Fox is a little over 5,100 while ROMT is 1,000 when set up for seated shows like MST3K) & none of the ROMT shows on either tour sold out. They’re going to need to do some incredible promotion to get butts in seats or it’s going to be a weirdly empty room.
Not that I’m not excited, mind you. I’ll definitely be there, but the historical pattern of ticket sales for their shows in the Detroit area doesn’t square with moving to a venue that large.

Don’t you mean Bill and Kevin?
I haven’t seen them listed as writers on the new releases for quite a while.

Yeah, and CT used to come by Northampton/Amherst, MA, just to insult our little one-main-street college town…Okay, once was the Farewell tour.
Now they just assume the entire state consists of Boston, and do two shoes there.

Hi All,
Can some fellow Mistie please point me to where people have found that Kevin or Bill are stepping down from Rifftrax?
I saw it mentioned here earlier and have been searching the net for answers….I’m hoping this is a rumor.
With Joel’s last live tour I can see it taking a toll, cause none of us are getting any older…still a little sad.
I saw the 1st, and 2nd live shows in S.F. and for me it was like “yeah this is where we belong”, it felt like coming home, like church or something, it’s hard to express in words, all those Misties old and new everywhere. A mom and son sat behind my wife and I and the son was prob. 7 or 8 and he handmade his own crow costume. That was really wonderful to see.
I’m hoping to catch the next Live tour in S.J.
Hopefully they will green light another season on Netflix.

We’ve just noticed their names don’t show up as often as writers on the newer releases, is all.

Bill & Kevin have writing credits for the “Stat Raiders” live show.
As for the tour, on the one hand I’m disappointed that they, at present, aren’t doing a show at the Keswick in Glenside, PA. It’s a nice venue, and I’ve seen the previous MST Live tour shows there, as well as the last (to date) CT show. On the other hand, they’re doing a show at the State Theater in New Brunswick, NJ. That cuts my travel time to the show from nearly two hours to around twenty minutes, though parking in New Brunswick is a real hassle.

On a completely different note, have they announced a DVD/Blu release of Season 12 yet?
