LOS ANGELES–Tim Conway, the Emmy-winning comedian and actor who memorably starred in “McHale’s Navy” in the 1960s and “The Carol Burnett Show” in the ’70s, died May 14 at a hospital here. He was 85.
MSTies may recall that Tom Servo impersonated him in a host segment in episode 305- STRANDED IN SPACE.
Funny guy…started in a comedy team with Ernie “Ghoulardi” Anderson; My Favorite story was during the filming of one of Tim’s many short-lived sitcoms…a network exec appeared unannounced onto the set during a scene, looked around and then muttered “Don’t do this anymore” and then walked out..R.I.P.

One of Conway’s funniest sketches, though you have to pity poor Lyle Waggoner.

How best to remember Tim Conway? Watching him drive the cast of the Carol Burnett Show in general — and Harvey Korman in particular — utterly insane. We miss you already, Tim.

I’ll have to watch Gamera vs. Guiron to hear all the Dorf riffs…

I saw “Lyle Waggoner”, and thought, dang, you beat me to it. :)
As part of that generation who grew up with 80’s movies and 80’s HBO, that left me trying to find suitable quotable clips from “The Private Eyes”:

Believe you’re thinking of “Godzilla vs. Megalon”, and the uncannily Dorf-ish ruler of Seatopia?

That’s right! I had some wires crossed.

Yep…. great family memories of watching Mr. Conway on The Carol Burnett Show, joining in the uncontrollable laughter he caused with the cast. He was truly a very funny man.
What a sad week this has been, losing a couple of the greats. Having just got the word of Grumpy Cat’s recent demise, I sure hope that counts as our third.

He was also mentioned in Hamlet’s “Alas Poor” sketch

Tim Conway and Cher appeared in a Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In sketch where he delivered some very naughty lines. Luckily for us, the Censors were pretty naive.
