RIP Doris Day
Carmel Valley, Calif.–Doris Day, the honey-voiced singer and actress whose film dramas, musicals and innocent sex comedies made her a top star in the 1950s and ’60s, and among the most popular screen actresses in history, died at her home here May 13. RIP. I enjoyed many of her movies, especially “Calamity Jane,” but now whenever I think of her, I think of the episode of M*A*S*H where Colonel Potter wants one of her records played over and over.
I didn’t know she was still around.
97? I’d say she had a pretty full life.

She was a good singer, a good actor, and above all a good person. We need more like her.
