It’s sadly not even a sexploitation film. There is one scene of “Colossus” level bad dancing. Most of it is “Lost Continent” with Nazis or “Jungle Goddess” without the heroes kicking around the natives, ’cause they have Nazis to fill that role and the heroes have to be better than Nazis. There is also an Asian “Bob Hope” character and while the films treatment of him is racist, it’s nowhere near as racist as a lot of these B movies; they actually assign some value and dignity to his person, not enough, but some.

In case that sounds positive: no, the film is “rock climbing” levels of dull. The villain is bat guano levels of loco too, but somehow still manages to be boring. Mary Jo and Bridget are charming and I survived the film due to their talents, but I don’t know when I will be scrolling up this “cinema” in the future.

Just in case you didn’t immediately recognize him, it’s Hop Sing from Bonanza.

It’s a strange thing to say, but even I am too young to have watched Bonanza. (early to mid Gen X here)

    Whoa.
This is my first post on a Rifftrax title, so I don’t know what’s cool to say and what’s not. BUT.
First, this isn’t a short, this is a 77-minute full-length movie (and by the file sizes Rifftrax is showing, they got it all.)
It’s one of Richard Cunha’s six movies that he made with his own production company, as director and co-producer, and he’s DAMN good working with a limited budget.
And it’s got IRISH MCCALLA, for God’s sake, in her only lead role, other than Sheena on TV. Woman is part goddess, part Barbie doll. Victor Sen Yung is terrific, and Rudolph Anders as Col. Osler is AWESOME. It’s Christoph Walz, but even creepier.
You can watch a gorgeous print on archive.org OR download it there in several formats-it is absolutely worth owning even without the riffing.
I’d love to hear more opinions on how the riffing is.

Judging from the way they seem to be picking their movies by title possibility alone, you suspect that if Film Crew hadn’t already done “Wild Women of Wongo”, you KNOW who would be riffing it by now…

Maybe you should view the Rifftrax film before you judge it.

As usual, sexist trolls whine when B&MJ riff a movie about women, starring women, or with “woman” or synonym in the title. Yet when Joel, Mike, Kevin, Bill, Jonah, Trace and other guys riff a movie about men, starring men, or with “man” in the title (such as “Puma Man” or “The Projected Man”), it’s not considered noteworthy.

    Think about it, won’t you?

What’s cool to say is stuff like what you just said. Very interesting, and it definitely contributes to the discussion. What’s not cool (afaik since I am not a mod) is to trash the film, the riffs, or the riffers without even having seen it. Guess who does that on almost every single Rifftrax post?

I haven’t bought this yet but probably will as I am partial to B&MJ, but like you I’d love to hear others’ opinions on the riffing. FYI, their “Cat-Women of the Moon” is still one of my all-time favorites and something I break out once in a while if I’m in need of cheering up. (“Acting? Or coma? YOU decide!!”)

Irish McCalla is very easy on the eyes. And in this movie she doesn’t talk in Hulkspeak, like she does in the Sheena TV series.

Thanks for the post. The main reason I keep coming back to this site is the discussions of the movies and bits of trivia that I can pick up. Keep it up.

Cat Women on the Moon was my first MJ&B full-length riff, and I LOVED it. I may have to check this one out, especially with Pete’s plug.

Technically Cuhna had just been cinematographer on Bloodlust, with the actual director being Ralph Brooke.

Actually, this movie can be considered an early (and more tasteful) example of the Nazisploitation film, perhaps the sleaziest of all sleazy exploitation film categories. The genre began in the late 1960s and had mostly run its course by the early 1980s. Not to be confused with the genre of the Nazi Zombie film, which debuted in the 1940s and intermittently surfaces even to this day.

Those who want to learn more are politely encouraged to find such information for themselves and test their thresholds of nausea.
