I wish I’d known about this a couple of days ago. I ordered some DVDs from the Rifftrax site and had to pay a high shipping charge. I got the $10 credit but shipping was actually more than $10. I would’ve preferred using Amazon’s free shipping, even if it’s slow.

Anyway, it looks like “One Got Fat” will be on the next Shorts DVD, but I can’t make out any of the others.

According to the Amazon description, Coffee House Rendezvous and Are You Popular? will also be included.

Another DVD site that has them for pre-order lists these as the shorts on Volume 2:

One Got Fat, Lunchroom Manners, Each Child is Different, Cathy-Petaluma Chicken, Act Your Age, Harm Hides at Home, Coffee House Rendezvous, Are You Popular? and Good Heath Practices.

I saw NOTLD at Best Buy today for $6.09.

    JoshWay,

I could be wrong, but that sounds like the previous NOTLD release that had commentary by Mike alone, not the new RiffTrax version featuring all three. That’s not supposed to be released to retailers until June 16.

Very nice. I’ll pre-order the Shorts vol. 2 DVD. I wish I had known about the others. It would have been nice to buy the DVDs with free shipping.

@Erhardt- It was the actual Rifftrax disc, not the previous Legend version. I was surprised to see it on the new release rack.

I just hope this new shorts DVD will have the shorts themselves framed better. Most of them on the first one were zoomed in a little too close, so that text was cut off and such.

Err…worth it…unless there’s an amusing Rupaul joke I could have made to save myself. If there is, then I meant that.

Got my five today. Shipping was a whopping $7 (sarcasm on). AND I got $10 in credit, so it ended up being -$3. Happy camper me.

I just ordered most of these directly from Rifftrax, and although I don’t mind the shipping too much(it IS fast, at least) I am a little bummed that I wasn’t able to support the site with my purchse. I will, at least, click your link for the SHORTS VOL 2. Now if only CINEMATIC TITANIC could get on Amazon!

I thought REEFER MADNESS and HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL were the best of the bunch. LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS the worst. The rest were just so-so.

These are as close to THE FILM CREW as we are going to get I guess.

I ordered Vol. 2 today directly from Rifftrax, and just got a shipping notification??? I didn’t think the DVD was coming out until the 16th of next month?

Why would they do a 3 Stooges movie? It’s already a comedy! Odd. Not that I particularly care one way or the other for the 3 Stooges but it just seems like a weird choice considering all the other films are horror/exploitation films (with the exception of the shorts). Has anyone seen it yet?

  24. Mayo says:

^ Swing Parade is a cheap musical made by poverty studio Monogram. The stooges don’t star, just appear occasionally. I don’t think it’s an overly bad movie, but it’s definitely a B-movie.

I agree. I just watched it again yesterday and it may be a bit silly and light, but Gale Storm is attractive and it zips along at a good pace.

I loved MST3K. But have kind of stayed away from the film crew,CT and rifftrax. I’m willing to give rifftrax a try, now that its on DVD. So which DVD should I try first? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks. :???:

No suggestions here, as I have yet to watch them, but I do have a question.

Why are you now willing to give Rifftrax a try because it is on DVD, but have not yet tried The Film Crew or Cinematic Titanic, which have been on DVD all along? YMMV, of course, but both of those projects are well-done successors to the MST3K dynamic.

    Just wondering.

CT or Film Crew ventures have never appealed to me for some reason. I’ve watched or listened to samples of both and it seemed kind of blah. I guess just wishing for the real MST3K would come back.
Just something about rifftrax that caught my eye recently. I may try CT and FC later. Can’t judge by the samples. But for now RT it is.
