Kevin, Bill, Mary Jo, Bridget, Trace and Frank will join forces with Cole Stratton, Janet Varney, John Hodgman and Paul F. Tompkins for “RiffTrax: Day of the Shorts” on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 4 p.m. at the Castro Theater in San Francisco as part of the huge Sketchfest 2019 event.
Frank and Trace will also do a “The Mads Are Back” show on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 10:30 p.m.
Bill, Kevin, Conor Lastowka, Tompkins and “Weird Al” Yankovic join forces for “Audible Presents: The Pole Vault Championship of the Entire Universe,” on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Have fun!
For years I hoped for “Weird Al” to be a guest on the show. Maybe next season?

If I’m VERY lucky, I’ll get to attend both Rifftrax and the Mads at this year’s Sketchfest. I’m excited to see both live shows, but I’m particularly looking forward for a chance to see MJ and Bridget – I love their dynamic. ALL the fingers crossed!

Kevin and Bill have been discussing this year’s Sketchfest on their respective Twitters for the past couple months.
I wonder why Mike isn’t involved.
For the MSTies here who are attending the events, enjoy!

I just hope “Day of the Shorts” will be available on Rifftrax for later Video on Demand purchase. Even if Mike isn’t on it.

Okay……can anybody please explain the whole ‘Mike thing’, when it comes to Sketchfest, and his (usually) not attending?
And YES, I know he HAS attended, but even when he was there, they made some jokes about his not being there in the past, and his probably not attending in the future.
What, if anything, is Mike Nelson’s “problem” with Sketchfest (especially given the fact that his wife will (once again) be there!) ??

Looking at the rest of the lineup, I can see why Mike wouldn’t want to go.
Also MSTK3 related: Baron Vaughn is going to be there. Maybe other new people, but that’s as far as I wanted to look at the list.

Well somebody has to take the conn while everyone else is away.

Ahh – Kevin Pollack. Probably doesn’t want to reheat any beef over the Willow jokes in “Village of the Giants”.

?
What did the Willow jokes even consist of besides a vaguely derogatory comment about the film immediately followed by Crow declaring “Hey, I LIKED Willow!” ?
(notice that he never implied it was above reproach or anything of that sort; one can LIKE a movie and still be capable of recognizing its flaws)

Mike ditched Twitter last year and isn’t going to Sketchfest…. I hope he is isn’t sporting a long beard and walking around in pajamas all day using kleenex boxes for slippers..yet.

You sound like Eric J., a trait that isn’t becoming in the slightest.
Mike has his reasons for leaving Twitter and not going to Sketchfest.
Let’s hope he is well and that we will be getting more Rifftrax soon.

Well, Kevin has mocked the whole Twitter situation recently on his own Twitter, but I guess I didn’t want Eric’s bad will spreading.
Also, I’ve been home sick for almost a week with a URI, so my irony meter is off.
