Longtime MSTies will recall that Merton played Sandra Benes in the movie in episode K10- COSMIC PRINCESS. She was 72.
Thanks to Tim for the heads up.

Awwww… I had such a crush on her :(
I only got to see Space 1999 in reruns and then, being a college student, only on other people’s televisions, but I enjoyed it very much. I am sorry to learn of Ms. Merton’s passing. RIP
1984. Space 1999. 2001: A Space Odyssey.
It’s hard to believe that the “distant future” is now so far in the past.
Watched Space 1999 as a kid in the 70’s and again this year. Good show. Obvious influence on later Star Trek shows. Rest in peace sweet lady.
One thing that show did well was have women who were odd looking yet hot at the same time.
CometTV has started showing it again. The show is almost completely nonsensical, by even 1970s standards. It’s like Zardoz in space.
Oh man, sad, I love this show. I even celebrate Space 1999 Day every year (Sept 13)!
