That fourth disk with all the home sequences from eleven episodes… Wow. Like a table covered with banana splits.

This was the first bittersweet DVD purchase that I ever made. I’m so glad we got The Amazing Transparent Man. The host segments in that one are hilarious.
With Netflix probably scared to fund a full season, let’s say thirteen episodes, of MST3K and this final set, we may be done with any kind of new MST3K stuff for a long time.

I have plenty enough MST3K to last a lifetime (then again, I’m a LOT older than most here).
It was a great run and lasted probably a bit too long (given that last season). But lots of laughs and a legacy that won’t be easily equalled.

michael, I still think there’s a coin flip chance of Season 12 happening…

Maybe the y could stand to scale down the production for a twelfth season? The original series did a lot with less people.

Season 12 will happen. It will be 10 episodes. I have no proof, but mark my words.

I got my Vol. XXXIX a couple of weeks ago, and I got my Season 11 DVD set and Funko Pop Servo and Crow within a day of each other this week. It’s good time to be a MSTie.

Ballyhoo definitely deserves accolades. I’ve absolutely loved their mini-docs and still plan to go back and marathon them all at some point. Super interesting and well-researched.
And I’m sure I’m not the first to say this, but how is it The The Eye Creatures can justify holding out on film rights? All the others I understand (legendary cult status, big names or big studios attached) but that one boggles my mind.

Couldn’t Joel just do another Kickstarter? Rifftrax does them all the time.
They could also go back to their roots and ditch the Hollywood stars and CGI. Svengoolie does a great job on a low budget. He doesn’t riff (except once in a while) but does a lot of skits and such.

It boggles my mind that they haven’t announced one way or another about a new season yet. Netflix has tons of insane demographics that they track, they have to know how well the show actually does along with all the positive press. Plus it’s my understanding that most of the production costs are wrapped up in building sets, so with that all taken care of it’s a huge cost reduction for future seasons. Maybe it’s ironing out costs/responsibilities/etc between Shout and Netflix? Sorry, just rambling.
Back on topic, does anyone have that list of remaining episodes they will likely never get the rights to?

They certainly could. The thing to remember is those Kickstarters tend to have diminishing returns on subsequent years. (Off the top of my head I don’t know how the annual Rifftrax one is performing year on year.) Especially when you consider the recording setting height the first MST Kickstarter did. I just don’t see that twice in a row. I contributed the first time and probably would again, but I likely would reduce my pledge as well on a prospective round 2.
Others have poo-pooed this thought but I personally think if there is a positive announcement to be made about a Season 12 it will happen during this year’s Turkey Day Streaming Marathon.

That would make sense to me if the next season was announced in that manner. I’m also not going to be surprised if it doesn’t happen.

Thank you. :)
Further on topic, though I’ve had this set for a while now, I’m finally going to dive into the special features (and bonus Poopie disc) this weekend and am very excited.
Further more off topic, are we fully aware of the reasons for all of these episodes having issues? I know most are AIP related, Godzilla people are WAY too precious, and AottEP seem to be delusional about its monetary value. The others?
Also, though it was released on VHS for a short time, why are we not including War of the Colossal Beast these days?

Hello!
Because War of the Colossal Beast IS available, on Vol. XXXIV (along with Viking Women, She-Creature and The Undead): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015I14600/
Unless something happened I wasn’t aware of, in which case I should get that last remaining set I never got around to.
I don’t recall War being on VHS, but Amazing Colossal Man was only on Rhino VHS before suffering its Hart attack.

Ah, there’s the problem. I thought it was available but wasn’t sure so I peeked at the DVD List on this site, but they’re a few behind on updates. And as a result couldn’t remember if it had suffered the same fate as ACM. But I do have that set, so all is right with the world… outside of us being deprived of 12 official release MST3K episodes for somewhat petty reasons.
